Guest guest
Jewelweed works great. It's a plant usually found growing near poison ivy. I know there is a small bottle of poison ivy stuff in the health food stores. Just make sure it has jewelweed listed on the ingredients. I purchased it on the internet via http://store.altnature.com/poivre1.html. I've used several different prescription creams as I am very allergic. Jewelweed definately works best. , " reeinmaryland " <reeamor wrote: > > I mistakenly brushed up against some shrubs that contained poison Ivy > and now I have a Poison Ivy Rash on the side of my arm. > Does anyone have any helpful alternative methods to get rid of it? > > Thanks in advance to all who respond. >
Guest guest
Echinacea applied topically to the rash along with taking it internally is an excellent remedy. Guest guest
Salt. Dampen skin, sprinkle salt on, scrub until it starts to slightly burn. Leave the salt to dry on the skin. For me, that just flat takes care of it. Doesn't itch anymore, then it dries up. I think I might have done it a couple times, or whenever it itched again. Guest guest
The first time that our son had come in contact with poison oak/ivy we had no clue what it was and he landed in the doctors office very sick and on lots of medicine. The next time it happened I tried all of the over the counter remedies and nothing worked. I was ready to take him to the doc's again. Then I looked online sort of a last ditch effort and found Zanfel http://www.zanfel.com/help/ This is the only stuff that worked it worked fast. When I first purchased it you could only buy it online and ship it overnight if that is how soon you needed it...now you can find it in the stores. It is pricier but it WORKS!
