Remember when I was looking for the perfect resource to buy for my kids' school

to enlighten them as to why processed food is bad food? Well, I think I found

the perfect resource!

There is a new movie coming out (releasing in NY & CA in June 2009) entitled

" Food, Inc " - a documentary by Robert Kenner. There is also a companion book

which just released this month (I just ordered it) and the dvd comes out Sept

15, 2009 (I'm planning on buying that for the school too). There is also a

website at www.takepart.com/foodinc. Here is the synopsis from the magazine I

saw it in...(please forgive typos)

In his eye-opening file, Kenner illuminates critical issues all across the food

production spectrum; families that cannot afford fresh fruit ordering from

Burger King instead; farmers who are left with no choice but to purchase

genetically modified seeds or risk litigation from agrochemical companies; pitch

dark, overcrowded chicken coops and vast pork factories. The film also

illustrates the devastating helath effects of porcessed foods (HFCS) and

connects the dots of how former corp agriculture execs play puppeteer by

infiltrating the very govt agencies meant to protect our food supply. The

sstematic problems run deep; neverleless, the film's message remains hopeful.

If tobacco can have a backlash, the documentary theorizes, so can America's

tainted food industry. All we need to do is band together to insist on better

policies. The film shows how.
