Guest guest
Hello everyone, I have been wanting to realy start a homestead for Years, finally have the land and over the past year We have been raising chickens and just got some more as well as ducks, geese and turkeys. I have also found the adiction hatching, My house is full of brooders right now. I also just started raising rabbits, I have a Checkerd Giants, silver fox and Blanc de Hotots, expecting our first litter Tues. I have also aquired some dairy type nanny goats, 2 are milking now and we love the raw milk. I just bought 2 more Boer nannys at the auction yesterday and we will be geting a really nice meat buck in June to cross on them. We are planning on raising meat goats and have a couple milkers. Last year was the first year I put in a garden and learned a lot, Im hoping this years will be better. I am also planing on puting in some fruit trees and berrys this year. I would also like to start an herb garden. Would like to ut in a bucnh of medicinal herbs and be able to makes teas and such from them. Still learning all I can and hope this group helps. Guest guest
Hi Kimberly, Thanks for the introduction. Wow! Sounds like you have jumped in full tilt. It must be very exciting! I'm envious about the hatching, lol. I'd love to have all those animals! I think you'll find that most of us are not in your situation with the homesteading, but we all are trying to do what we can in our own ways. We're anxious to hear about your adventures. :-)Cyndi In a message dated 4/26/2009 12:03:06 P.M.
