Guest guest
Hi Barb, Yes, you can till the ground now and put your seedlings in later. You might want to cover it up with some straw until you are ready to plant. I don't know about the concrete dividers, but I have to wonder if the concrete would leach anything into the soil. I don't know if it would or not, just would want to make sure it's safe for food use. I'd still probably use untreated lumber. Most raised beds need to be redone in a few years anyway, just about the time the wood starts rotting. Cyndi In a message dated 4/14/2009 7:44:32 P.M. It'll be big - like 5' by 20' - I thought about using concrete dividers and wire mesh fencing around it (to keep out rabbits) instead of raised bed. Is it too much more expensive? A friend pulled out her raised beds and discovered horrible termite damage and I don't want to go down that route! Thanks!!!!Barb Great deals on Dell’s most popular laptops – Starting at $

Guest guest
I used cinder blocks as a divider-paths in a big garden. They were older. I've not heard of them leaching. It worked well. <> >cyndikrall [cyndikrall] >4/15/2009 1:23:54 AM > >Re: [RFSL] garden questions... > > > > >Hi Barb, > >Yes, you can till the ground now and put your seedlings in later.
