Guest guest
Annie, do you grow any of your own vegetables? For one person, you could really grow more than you need, and have enough to share with others. Cyndi In a message dated 3/6/2009 7:04:45 P.M. I'm trying hard not to buy any groceries for the month of March since my last bill was $110 for just ME! Crazy. So out of retaliation, I told my self no more until it is ALL eaten up, hehe. So far so good :)Thanks for all the other story links. They were all just as fantastic! Thank you so much!Annie , cyndikrall wrote:>> Did anyone watch this on Oprah? Very interesting. Guest guest
I tried growing leaf lettuce, beans and carrots last year in containers on my apt balcony. This year I hope to expand, but still in containers and on a balcony. I'll be growing lettuce, carrots and beans again like last year, as well as pumpkins, sugar snap peas, roma tomatoes, cucumbers, bell peppers, strawberries, chives and, if I'm lucky, a small black raspberry bush (transplanted from my parents' property where they grow wild all along the property perimeter). It sounds like a lot, but I will be using lots of trellises, hanging planters along with self-watering pots. Hopefully I'll be able to can a lot of it and possibly pass some on to friends and family. I hope to eventually grow all my own vegetables someday. Annie , cyndikrall wrote: > > Annie, do you grow any of your own vegetables? Guest guest
Have you seen the commercials for those Upside Down pots? They hang and you put the plants in the bottom of the pots, then fill with dirt and water from the top. Don't know if they really work, but they looked interesting. Guest guest
I thought I bookmarked a bunch of those upside down hanging "pots" made from 2 liter bottles etc. I can't find them but if you have time to search maybe you can. <> >Anita [littlemama_6144] >3/9/2009 12:28:33 AM > >Re: [RFSL] Re: Annie/was: What Could You Give Up for 7 Days? > >Have you seen the commercials for those Upside Down pots? Guest guest
Oh, I have seen those! Crazy looking! Don't think I'll be trying those this year, maybe next year or another time down the road. It would definitely be worth trying Annie , " Anita " <littlemama_6144 wrote: > > Have you seen the commercials for those Upside Down pots?
