Guest guest
1 Cup Baking soda (or washing soda)1 Cup Borax1 Tablespoon salt (cheap stuff don't waste your sea salt)Citric acid (don't remember how much) OR 1 envelope plain Kool-aid, just don't get the real dark colored koolaid. Mix it all up well and use 1 tablespoonful in each cup in your dishwasher. If you don't use the citric acid or Kool-aid, it will leave a film all over your dishes.A Good Credit Score is 700 or Above. I know for years, all I used in my dishwasher has been, with each load I put a spoon of baking soda and a spoon of borax in the little soap dispenser. I never had an issue whatso ever w/ a " film " all over my dishes. BUT, we had a water softener and ultra soft water. A couple months ago our water softener broke down and immediately, the baking soda/borax mixture would not clean my dishes properly,,it left that " film " . So I have since switched and am using the commercial dishwasher detergents. I hate to, but I dont really have a choice. Altho, I would say that even with the commercial detergents, I still have a film. So I am thinking it has more to do w/ the hardness of ones water than the ingredients in the soap??? But, I will try the citric acid next time I go to the store I will look for that and see if that has any wonderful results. Altho I am sceptical bcz our water is SO HARD,,we shall see thanx warmly,,,,jill
Guest guest
Hiya Jill; Did you see the next email i sent, saying to be sure to put vinegar in the Jet Dry tray too? That probably helps cut down the film that might be left on the dishes. I haven't gotten around to look for citric acid yet, so i haven't tried this recipe out. Seems like i saw it somewhere, but i'll be darned if i can remember any more.
