Phone books are a real issue with me. I can't stand getting them, there's no place to recycle them and I haven't had luck getting people to stop delivering them to me. I'm going to try this suggestion.

BANG FOR THE BITE

If 10,000 Biters opt out of a phonebook, we'll keep about 620 trees standing.

COCKTAIL FACT

According to a Rutgers researcher, business grad students cheat more than those in any other major (56% vs. an average of 47% in other fields).

Wanna study up on how to stop getting phonebooks?

The BiteDon't cheat yourself or the forest. Sign up and you'll never receive another paper phonebook. Taking notes? The Benefits

More paper for textbooks. About 540 million unsolicited phonebooks arrive at American doors annually - takes a lotta trees to make those. Majoring in waste reduction. Phonebooks make for about 660,000 tons of trash every year. Extra credit: less annoyance. Just lugging phonebooks into the house when you know you'll never use them is a pain.

Personally SpeakingNone of us have used a paper phonebook since the advent of Google SMS (send a text message to 466453 with business name and zip code, and you'll get the number and address sent to you).

Wanna Try?

I was about to suggest going to http://earth911.com/ to make sure there was no place you can take your phone books to be recycled but I see the website did suggest it. We are able to take ours to Supulpa, OK where we take all of our trash to be recycled (we recycle 100% of our trash).

Unfortunatly, we do still need our phone books since signing online (we still have to use dial-up) just to get a phone number then signing off to use our phone takes way too long. Until inexpensive technology gets out to these parts of the woods we will have to continue doing it the old fashioned way. Continue letting our fingers do the walking.
