Here is a list of fruit trees that require minimum time till fruiting, are easy care and reliable producers:- Achras (manilkara) zapota / Sapodilla" - grafted varieties start fruiting right away. Hard to kill tree, very easy to grow, salt-, drought- poor-soil tolerant. Excellent sweet fruit.

- Annona cherimola x A. squamosa / Atemoya - starts fruiting right away.

- Annona squamosa (green) or Kampong Mauve (red) / Sugar apple (Custard Apple) - starts fruiting right away.

- Artocarpus heterophyllus / Jackfruit - the most popular variety is Black Gold. The biggest fruit in the world that grows on a tree. Even seedlings start fruiting within 3 years; grafter varieties - may start bloom right away. Large fruit big enough to feed the whole family!

- Averrhoa carambola / Carambola - heavy producer, starts fruiting right away.

- Blighia sapida / Akee - national fruit of Jamaica used as vegetable. May take a year or two till good crop, but worth to wait, delicious when fried!

- Bunchosia argenta / Peanut Butter Fruit. Kids love it! Fruits right away.

- Cinnamomum aromaticum / Cassia cinnamon - add leaves to flavor your tea.

- Diospyros digyna - even seedlings may fruit within 3 years. Hard to kill tree, flood tolerant, delicious sweet exotic pulp.

- Diospyros kaki - Persimmon. Cold tolerant, starts fruiting right away.

- Eriobotrya japonica / Loquat - grows on poor soils and is drought tolerant. Sweet apricot-like fruit.

- Eugenia aggregata / Cherry of the Rio Grande - fruits profusely. Can be grown as a single specimen tree or as a dense windshield if planted for a hedge. Cold tolerant.

- Eugenia braziliensis / Grumichama - tasty juicy fruit! Profuse producer. Can be grown as a single specimen tree or as a dense windshield if planted for a hedge.

- Eugenia uniflora - Red fruit / Surinam Cherry. Very popular bush or small tree with aromatic sweet-n-sour juicy fruit. Can be used as a hedge. Cold tolerant.

- Euphoria longana var. Kohala / Longan - one of the best Asian fruits, sweet and juicy. Cold tolerant.

- Litchi chinensis / Lychee juicy sweet aromatic Asian fruit. Always a high-demand tree.

- Malpighia glabra / Barbados-Cherry. High vitamin C fruit, heavy producer, relatively cold tolerant. Fruits even in small size.

- Mangifera indica - Mango. Can be grown even in pots. Produce fruit right away.

- Morinda citrifolia - / Noni - world-famous medicinal fruit. Trees bloom and fruit right away, year round. Can be grown indoors, great ornamental with large tropical leaves, shade tolerant, hard to kill.

- Moringa oleifera / Horseradish tree - medicinal plant that can be used for herb tea. Cold hardy, hard to kill.

- Morus hybrid Pakistani / Giant fruit Mulberry - makes 4"-6" long fruit! Fruits right away, vigorous tree, very cold tolerant.

- Muntingia calabura / Strawberry tree - fruits right away,almost year around. Kids love it, tastes like cotton candy.

- Musa acuminata - Bananas. Takes only few months to a year till good production.

- Persea americana - Avocado - grafted trees fruit right away

- Pimenta dioica / Allspice - use leaves for spice and tea. Cold hardy.

- Pimenta racemosa / Bay Rum Tree - use leaves for tea. Cold hardy.

- Piper sarmentosum / Vietnamese pepper - leaves used for food wraps, very tasty and aromatic.

- Pouteria campechiana var. Bruce - grafted Canistel, fruits right away, relatively cold hardy. Sweet quality fruit.

- Psidium guajava / Tropical Guava. In spite of its common name, it's cold hardy. Very reliable and heavy producer of aromatic quality fruit for a long season.

- Psidium littorale / Cattley guava - Fast growing, massive producer! Cold hardy. Fruit is very aromatic, great for juices.

- Punica granatum var. Vietnam / Pomegranate - var. Vietnam. Evergreen variety. Cold hardy.

- Randia formosa / Blackberry jam fruit. Kids love it! Winter bloomer, tasty exotic sweet fruit.

- Spondias cytherea / June Plum - they say, it may fruit itself to death. Very aromatic, and good for you.

- Spondias purpurea / Purple Mombin - similar to June Plum (above), but with red fruit.

- Syzygium jambos / Rose apple - hard to kill tree, tolerates all soils and conditions. Aromatic crunchy fruit with rose flavor. May take a few years till fruit though.

- Syzygium samarangense / Wax Jamboo - crunchy sweet juicy fruit. Heavy producer, even in pot. Relatively cold hardy.
