Prepare healthy and delicious gluten-free desserts with organic coconut flour! We have several recipes for cookies and muffins on our website using organic coconut flour. Tropical Traditions organic coconut flour is fiber from the coconut meat after most of the oil has been extracted to make Virgin Coconut Oil. It is certified organic, unsweetened, and has not been treated with sulfites. Tropical Traditions organic coconut flour is high in dietary fiber and protein, and is gluten-free. It has more fiber than gluten-based grains. Tropical Traditions organic coconut flour can be added to standard wheat-based recipes to add extra fiber, by substituting 10-30% of the grain-based flour with our coconut flour. Some recipes, such as muffins and quick breads, can be accomplished with 100% Tropical Traditions organic coconut flour and therefore be 100% gluten-free! (See some sample recipes on our website!) Since organic coconut flour contains natural sugar from the coconut meat, baked goods need less sugar added. The organic coconut flour has a mildly sweet coconut taste!Tropical Traditions organic coconut flour also contains over 19% non-gluten protein! Therefore, it makes an excellent addition to shakes and smoothies where fiber and protein are needed. Or simply dissolve a spoonful in water as a high-fiber drink with a coconut flavor! This organic coconut flour is very versatile and very tasty. Sprinkle it over your favorite dishes to add a wonderful coconut flavor, use it as a thickener in soups and sauces - the possibilities are endless! Now, through Sunday October 26th only, you can buy 1 package of 2.2 lbs. of organic Coconut Flour at the regular retail price, and receive the second package FREE! This oil is processed the "old" way by what is called "physical refining." The modern way of processing coconut oil is by chemical extraction, using solvent extracts, which produces higher yields and is quicker and less expensive. Tropical Traditions Expeller Pressed Coconut Oil DOES NOT use solvent extracts. It is made the "old" way by expeller-pressed mechanical extraction. This oil is also NOT hydrogenated, and contains NO trans fatty acids. Tropical Traditions Expeller Pressed Coconut Oil is made from certified organic coconuts that have NOT been treated with chemicals or fertilizers. It is certified organic according to European and USDA standards. Our Expeller-Pressed coconut oil is high in the medium chain fatty acids, such as Lauric acid. Expeller Pressed Coconut oil is less expensive than Virgin Coconut Oil because it is machine made, and because it goes through a steam deodorizing process the taste is very bland, unlike Virgin Coconut Oil which retains the odor and taste of fresh coconuts. Some people prefer a bland, tasteless oil. Virgin Coconut Oil is unrefined, and has a much stronger taste. Now, until Sunday October 26th only, you can buy 1 gallon of Tropical Traditions Organic Expeller-pressed coconut oil at 50% OFF the retail price. That is a $65.00 value for only $32.50!! While these products work very well in whitening clothes, chlorine bleaches do have a negative effect upon the environment because of their chemistry. Care must be taken in using chlorine bleach as it is toxic to humans, animals, and plants. Also, we all have experienced destroying a colored article of clothing because chlorine bleach was accidentally spilled on it.Tropical Traditions Oxygen Bleach is a safe and effective alternative to chlorine based products and it can be used in many applications in and around the home. It is based on sodium percarbonate which uses oxygen for destaining and deodorizing. Oxygen Bleach is safe to use at all temperatures, on most washable fabrics, and all colors, in hard or soft water, and is compatible with other household cleaners. Also, it produces no harmful by-products which negatively affect the environment. Unlike chlorine bleach, which can merely cover up a stain, Tropical Traditions Oxygen Bleach attacks and breaks down organic stains to totally remove them from the garment. Some of the many uses for this non-toxic household bleach are:Laundry• In the laundry Oxygen Bleach is used to destain, deodorize, and whiten. It is very effective as a laundry presoak for heavily stained articles. For light soils add 1 ounce of Oxygen Bleach with your laundry detergent per load. For moderate soils use 2 ounces and for heavily soiled articles use 4 ounces. • To whiten and deodorize diapers add 4-6 ounces of Oxygen Bleach into the soak cycle. Soak in hot water for at least 30 minutes, or overnight, then complete wash cycle. • For whitening old linens and yellowed window shears, deodorizing and cleaning tennis shoes, or to get rid of yellow armpit stains on shirts: soak in 2 ounces of Oxygen Bleach per gallon of water for at least one hour, or overnight, then rinse. Kitchen• For stained plastic ware, dishes, dish rags and dish towels add 1-2 ounces of Oxygen Bleach to the container to be cleaned or to the dishwater and soak for at least 15 minutes. • To keep your drains and disposals clear and smelling fresh add 1 ounce of Oxygen Bleach in 8 ounces of hot water and allow solution to sit in drain overnight. Bathroom• For septic systems add 4 ounces of Oxygen Bleach to toilet and flush into the septic system twice a week. • For toilets add 3 ounces of Oxygen Bleach, wait 15 minutes then scrub. • For shower curtains soak in one ounce of Oxygen Bleach per gallon of hot water; for mildew stains soak overnight. • For bathtub and shower use make a paste of Oxygen Bleach with hot water, scrub with a cloth or sponge, wait 15 minutes then rinse or use. Yard• For deodorizing garbage cans add 1/2 ounce of Oxygen Bleach per gallon of water and let soak. • For lawn furniture add 2 ounces of Oxygen Bleach to hot water, scrub, wait 15 minutes, then rinse. • For all weather carpeting add 4 ounces of Oxygen Bleach to a gallon of warm water scrub with a stiff broom, wait 20 minutes then rinse. Household• To destain and deodorize carpets add one ounce of Oxygen Bleach per gallon of carpet shampoo prior to cleaning. • To remove mold and mildew from carpeting add 2-4 ounces of Oxygen Bleach per gallon of hot water, apply generously to stain, wait 10 minutes, then vacuum with extractor. • For acoustic tiles add 6 ounces of Oxygen Bleach per gallon of hot water, spray on tiles, wait 15 minutes then rinse. • For mops add 3 ounces of Oxygen Bleach to a gallon of hot water, soak overnight then rinse. • For mildew removal or to clean baseboards or basement floors after water damage from flooding add 4 ounces of Oxygen Bleach to a gallon of hot water, scrub surface, wait 30 minutes then rinse. Oxygen Bleach is safe for use in a closed environment. • To clean and deodorize cat litter boxes soak them in 3 ounces of Oxygen Bleach per gallon of water for 20 minutes then rinse. • For urine, feces, or vomit stains on carpets or upholstery, add one teaspoon of Oxygen Bleach to 8 ounces of water, wipe onto stain, wait 10 minutes then rinse. Through Sunday October 26th only, you can purchase a 6 lb. canister of Oxygen Bleach at 45% OFF the retail price! Order here: http://www.householdtraditions.com/oxygen_bleach.htm?s=e1023 NEW SALE: 32% OFF GRASS-FED GROUND BEEFGrass-Fed Traditions currently supplies 100% grass-fed beef from small-scale family farms in Wisconsin. Our cows are all grass-fed Angus and Galloway (mostly Galloway). How do we define "grass-fed?" The cows are on pasture, not in feed lots eating silage. They are also finished on grass, and do not eat grains at all. We don't process animals in the Winter or early Spring, when they are only eating dry grass. Our animals are eating green grass right up to the time of processing, and are dry aged before packaging. Many sources of "grass-fed" beef today are simply from cows in feedlots eating silage year round. The CLA AdvantageConjugated Linoleic Acid (CLA) is a naturally occurring free fatty acid found mainly in meat and dairy products in small amounts. CLA was discovered by accident in 1978 by Michael W. Pariza at the University of Wisconsin while looking for mutagen formations in meat during cooking. The most abundant source of natural CLA is the meat and dairy products of grass-fed animals. Research conducted since 1999 shows that grazing animals have from 3-5 times more CLA than animals fattened on grain in a feedlot. Simply switching from grain-fed to grass-fed products can greatly increase your intake of CLA. (Dhiman, T. R., G. R. Anand, et al. (1999). "Conjugated linoleic acid content of milk from cows fed different diets." J Dairy Sci 82(10): 2146-56.)Omega 3'sOmega 3 is an essential fatty acid for human growth and development. We must have it to be healthy. Grass-finished beef is a great source for this essential nutrient. The source of Omega 3 is the green leaves of plants. When cattle eat their natural diet, beef becomes a great source of Omega 3. Grain is not a rich source of Omega 3, so standard, cattle-finishing practices cause the Omega 3 level to decrease dramatically. Galloway CattleGalloway cattle are an ancient breed that originated in the rugged hill country of southwestern Scotland. They are related to the Angus which was developed in northeastern Scotland. While the Angus was selected for rapid growth on better feed, the Galloway was selected for its ability to thrive on poor forage in a cold wet climate. They were first imported to the states in the 1850s. They are still rare in North America, and worldwide only number about 10,000. Their popularity is now increasing with the renewed interest in grass-fed and grass-finished beef. The Galloway, unrivaled as a grazing breed, utilizes coarse grasses frequently shunned by other breeds. They have the ability to produce a high quality beef product directly from grass. Due to the breed's naturally dense, insulating coat the Galloway does not layer on excessive outside fat. Results of a multi-breed research project conducted by a Canadian Government Experiment Station, reveal that the Galloway ranks second only to the Buffalo in hair density tests. The robust, hardy nature of the Galloway is especially suited for northern harsh climates. The claim that Galloway beef is juicy, tender, and flavorful is substantiated in recent USDA tests of Galloway crossbreds, when compared with eleven other breeds. Results of the Cycle IV Germ Plasm Evaluation (GPE) Program at the USDA Meat Animal Research Center (MARC), Clay Center, Nebraska, showed the Galloway crosses placing at the top of the chart for flavor, juiciness and tenderness. Now, through Thursday October 30th only, you can purchase 12 lbs. of grass-fed ground beef for only $69.00! During this time of transition, there could be some shipping delays on certain products as we move inventory and get our new system setup. We apologize in advance for any inconvenience this may cause. Why are we switching locations for our warehouse? As most of you know, the great majority of our products are imported from the Philippines and come into the US via the West Coast. We also have the largest concentration of customers living on the West Coast. So for somebody living in California, for example, that orders a unit of coconut oil from us, currently that unit of coconut oil travels all the way from the Philippines to Milwaukee Wisconsin, and then back to the West Coast, traveling an extra 5000 miles or so to reach the customer from where it first entered the US. So to reduce the amount of miles our products travel, and to reduce the amount of fuel our business consumes and thereby reduce costs, we decided to move our fulfillment warehouse to Reno Nevada, which is close to the Oakland port. In time, we are also looking at using a warehouse in Pennsylvania for delivery to all our Eastern US customers. But at least for now our products will not be doubling back to locations needlessly wasting fuel and increasing our costs. In addition, we have negotiated some great new shipping rates with UPS, and we will now be switching all of our shipments in the US to UPS from our current carrier, FedEx. Also, with the current declining fuel costs, the fuel surcharges on all the major carriers should drop by the first of November. So we are happy to announce that are shipping charges will soon go down for a change with all these changes we are making to reduce our fuel and shipping costs. We will be able to pass on some better rates, and eventually offer some FREE Shipping specials again in the future. In the meantime, please bear with us as we make some of these transitions.UPDATE ON TURKEY AVAILABILITY FOR THANKSGIVINGOur turkeys that we raise on Cocofeed (soy free) have taken a bit longer to grow this summer. We had expected to have them ready for ordering by the end of October. Right now, they are scheduled to be ready for shipping on Monday November 17th. They should be ready for ordering the week before that. We anticipate them to be about 11 or 12 lbs. If there is any change in this schedule we will let you know via these email announcements.NEW CREATED4HEALTH ARTICLE: WHO DO YOU TRUST?The fourth article in the foundation series on Created4Health by Brian Shilhavy has been published and is available here: http://created4health.org/faith.htm Read how simple child-like faith in God's unfailing love for us is the path to receiving everything we need to overcome the kingdom of darkness and live victoriously in the kingdom of light.Sincerely,Tropical Traditions--------------------PRIVACY STATEMENTYou are receiving this email because our records indicate you are a customer of The Tropical Tradition’s Healthy Buyer’s Club and have purchased from us in the past, and that you have opted in to receive special email announcements.
