Greetings!

Oops! I just noticed that this email didn't go out on Friday as it should have. We had a gas leak and my brain was under the influence. I was planning to bake some cookies and send out the recipe, but the utility guys came out and found there is a gas leak under my house, so I could use the stove. Thankfully, everything is fixed now.

So...instead of cookies I thought I would point out some nice autumnal recipes from the past that you may not be familiar with. And as it turned out, I'm found this to send to you today, on the Autumn Equinox.

Fruit Crisp or Buckle--this can be made with the last of the summer fruits and the incoming fall apples and pears

Pecan Pie--the best ever made with barley malt syrup and brown rice syrup

Baklava Bites Sweet morsels of light phyllo dough with honey and nuts inside

Wheat-Free Flourless Nut Cake--an autumn treat that can be made with any nut

Apple Fig Cake--a hearty and delicious apple cake that just seems to capture the taste of autumn

Raw Applesauce--so much more delicious (and nutritious) than the cooked kind. Easy and quick and remarkably like the cooked kind.

Any of these would be a wonderful treat for celebrating the Equinox.

Debra :-)
