Guest guest
I never measure anything, unfortunately. I just play around until I get what I need, lol. I use Dr. B for a LOT of things. It's good to clean anything. I usually use vinegar to clean, but I use Dr. B too. I know you can do your laundry with it, but that's more expensive to do. you can use the bars in the bath and shower, you can use the liquid to wash you face, although it's a little drying for me. There's not too many ways to go wrong, no matter what you use it for or how you dilute it, fortunately! Just avoid the eyes, and rinse well if you use it on floors or laundry. Guest guest
I LOVE this company - we use the hard soaps and the liquid hand soaps. The hard soaps are in baths, showers, & at a few sinks. The liquid version I use to wash my face at night (I don't get it near my eyes bc the lye burns your eyes) & as hand soap. For adults, its good as hand soap but with little ones you have to be careful. Unfortunately, my daughter squirted herself in the eye with the pump (when the pump got a little hard gunk at the end, it squirted out sideways). I tried it as shampoo but it left my hair impossible to comb through (but it gave it GREAT body!!). I've heard others love it. Dr Brommers now carries a shampoo/cond but I have not tried it. Hope this helps! , Michelle <suprmommy wrote: > > I was wondering how you use Dr. Bronners (if you do) and how you dilute it. > TIA Michelle. Guest guest
I dilute the liquid soap in reused soap dispensers, both the pumps newfangled foaming ones. I usually eyeball about 1/3 soap to 2/3 water, sometimes only 25% soap. It's very concentrated will clog up if you don't. I also use the Sal suds (sp?) on the floor etc. I use the unscented liquid on my diva cap (reusuable replacement for tampons etc), babies other sensitive uses. Otherwise I like the almond best. It's a reasonably priced product (don't think you could make your own much cheaper), clean, fair trade. Guest guest
Just wanted to share a little tip with you all. If you want to use the Dr. Bronners in your hair, follow it with a 1 part Vinegar/6 parts water rinse. I used apple cider vinegar. You will be amazed at how silky it makes your hair. Just the soap alone will leave unbelieveable tangles. It does a good job with a rinse. ; ) Mishaun--- On Fri, 9/12/08, Barb <FirstYrs08 wrote: Barb <FirstYrs08[RFSL] Re: Dr Bronners Date: Friday, September 12, 2008, 9:39 AM I LOVE this company - we use the hard soaps and the liquid hand soaps. Guest guest
Will the vinegar rinse make it easier to comb through your hair? Whomever posted about adding water and refilling the foam pumps - THANK YOU - now I found a way my kids can use it again! I don't remember why I thought it had lye in it? What is the base for Dr Bronners soap? (not that I have the time to make my own soap!) And what causes the burning when it gets in your eyes? Cyndy - I couldn't get the wildlife guide to open - is it a HUGE file? , Mishaun Search <mishaun530 wrote: > > Just wanted to share a little tip with you all. Guest guest
Yes, it acts like a conditioner. It doesn't leave the residue and you will be able to go longer between washes. Guest guest
Oh, I don't remember how big the file was, but don't worry about it. It was just some interesting info on bald eagles in Nebraska. You can always google it, if you are interested. Maybe if you're lucky you'll see them again, if they are successful in repopulating. :-)Cyndi In a message dated 9/12/2008 10:41:26 P.M. Guest guest
If you have hard water, it probably works to bring the pH back to normal. Cyndi In a message dated 9/23/2008 10:04:16 P.M.
