Guest guest
Well, I didn't get to use the acorns because they ruined. I didn't know that a moth lays eggs in them and the larva eat the nuts. To combat this, I should have toasted them. Then I could have used them at will. My kids and I am hoping to grind them into flour and makes muffins and pancakes. Just to see. We will have to leach the tannins out first, after toasting and cracking. I don't use my dishwasher anymore, so I may run them through it. Should do the trick!! I use hickory nuts like walnuts. When I can get my son to crack'em for me. We're eccentric, as I may have mentioned earlier. We'll try any foraging adventure at least once!!!
