I've taken to cutting up the unused crusts into stuffing-sized pieces, and then freezing them. I don't make stuffing a lot, holidays and special occasions, etc. but it's nice having some whole grain/sourdough bread ready for it. I don't really ever use breadcrumbs, but the kids do occasionally, so I really should make them sometimes too.

Some good tips here...

My mother always made breadcrumbs with left over bread and I have goge back to doing the same..especially with my home made bread...I just pop the slices in the oven after I have cooked something else...no extra power used that way...
