I seem to vaguely recall seeing a link to a company that makes things out of trash and they collect the trash by people mailing it to them. Does that ring any bells?I ask because i think i remember certain yogurt containers being included (was it yoplait?) in the things they'd take and reuse. Does that sound even remotely possible?LMK if my ramble makes sense to anyone. thanks!!terri

Oh oh oh! You mean Terracycle! Now I remember!

Hope this helps! I LOVE their plant fertilizer. I use it on all my potted plants. They even have a tomato fertilizer, but I haven't tried that yet. All organic, worm poop, great stuff, my plants love it. :-)HTH,

Terracycle gets the sponsor corporation (in the case of the yogurt it is Stonyfield Farms) to pay for the containers' donation fee. It's a great, easy way to get the community involved in both a fund raising & recycling program (no more chocolate bars or raffle tickets :-). They also have programs to collect cookie wrappers, soda bottles, drink pouches, and a new one for corks (Although I did get a look from the town manager at last night's Energy Committee meeting for bringing up the corks :-)!!).Best,Meredith

Hi Ladies!

The companies name is Terracycle: http://www.terracycle.org/

I signed up the Kittery Elementary PTA to collect yogurt containers -

in 3 months we've diverted over 1,000 yogurt containers from our

town's waste stream (our town's population is about 9,000).

Terracycle gets the sponsor corporation (in the case of the yogurt it

is Stonyfield Farms) to pay for the containers' donation fee. It's a

great, easy way to get the community involved in both a fund raising

& recycling program (no more chocolate bars or raffle tickets :-).

They also have programs to collect cookie wrappers, soda bottles,

drink pouches, and a new one for corks (Although I did get a look

from the town manager at last night's Energy Committee meeting for

bringing up the corks :-)!!).

Best,

Meredith

This is so cool! Thanks for the info, & the best part of all is that

the products are sold at Target, Walgreen's, Office Max -- all quite

close to my house. Definitely interested in the lawn fertilizer! And

the worm casings.
