LOL We must be watching the same channel because I just saw the same commercial and was wondering the same thing. I've used CLR in the past before I started greening the home and I just don't believe it. It has a horribly strong smell and it says wear gloves. Anything that says you have to wear gloves while using, has got to be bad for you. That's just my opinion though.

I have horrible limescale build-up on the bathroom fixtures and would love to get rid of it but I'm just not willing to use anything that I don't know is 100% safe for my family to be bathing in. I've tried vinegar and a vinegar baking soda mixture but it just wasn't tough enough. I'm going to try lemon juice and baking soda next.

This place is OLD (we rent) and I'm so afraid that there are yuckies in the carpet, walls and ceiling. I would love to clean the carpet but am NOT using chemicals with a toddler in the home. Any suggestions for cleaning carpets and/or removing limescale would be appreciated.

Ok I just saw a commercial for CLR that said it was natural with nochemicals or solvents. Does any one know if this is true? I am tryingto find a ingredient list.

I think it's very caustic. Have you heard of this product?http://www.ecomade.com/product_info.php/products_id/31

I don't know anything about it, but I'd love to hear if anyone has tried it, or has heard anything about it. Not that I believe everyone who says their product is non toxic, we know that is not true!

Plain old vinegar is good if you can soak the area with it.

Melissa, try a steam cleaner with just straight water. It'll still suck up an unbelievable amount of dirt. I've done it! I'd even try it with plain old vinegar.

For the limescale, a spray bottle of straight vinegar-you'll probably have to do ti every day to work at the problem. I don't have hard water so I haven't experimented, but if it's a shower head that can be detached, you could even soak it in straight vinegar over night to try to help it.

I don't really know what to recommend but you can look on care2.com. They have all kinds of green recipes for things. Most work well. The weed killer didn't kill poison ivy though as claimed.
