Yes, burning is bad! The blog page Tiffany sent looked like it had some good products on it. I'll keep my eyes/ears open for any talk about it.

This is another time when the site I found is informative. You can look up almost any insect repellent and sunblock and it will tell you ingredients and how bad or good it is for you. I usually do not use sunblock but I am afraid my kids will burn if I don't use it on them. The natural sunblocks can be as high as 16 dollars for 4 oz! Geesh who can afford that! If any one wants to look up what they are using try.. http://www.cosmeticsdatabase.com/index.php?nothanks=1

I've been avoiding sunblocks, because they interfere with Vit. D

absorption. Not easy, living in a hot climate, and being practically

albino, thanks to my Swedish mother, lol. I'm trying to build up my

tolerance slowly. Insect repellant is another hard question.

I would definitely avoid anything with parabens in it, if you look for

a commercial product. This is a good topic because there are no really

good answers.

When my husband visted friends outside of New Orleans (think VERY swampy bayou) they suggested he do "shot" of hot pepper sauce.

Hot pepper comes out of your pores when you sweat causing odors and repelling insects.

I've hear dhte same of garlic and curry but am not sure how great they are at repelling insects. I love garlic and eat it pretty often, but am very "delicious" apparently b/c i always have bites...
