The animals are 100% grass fed, and are also " finished " on grass. The products offered here are from the same buffalos that supply top-quality bison to many fine restaurants and shops across the U.S. Now you can have this premium source of meat delivered directly to your home! Grass-fed animals have been shown to be higher in Omega 3 fatty acids than grain-fed and finished livestock. CLA is also an essential fatty acid found primarily in grass-fed animals. Some studies have also shown that grass-fed bison contain up to 4 times more selenium than grain-fed bison. Bison contains more protein in relation to calories than beef. Bison are very hearty animals and are genetically a purer strain of red meat than most other meats. Bison do not have to be kept in barns, and can survive very harsh winters, finding grass to eat even when buried by a couple feet of snow! Bison is a very healthy, traditional source of meat in North America. And this is the premiere source of Bison in the U.S.! Most other sources of Bison are NOT 100% grass-fed, but include grains in the feed as well. These bison are NOT treated with hormones or antibiotics. They are naturally healthy and hearty animals. We only process our bison in the late spring through fall when they are grazing on green grass. Through Thursday April 24th only, you can purchase 12 packages of ground Bison Patties at 33% OFF the retail price. These patties of premium grass-fed Bison are ¼ lb. each, and you will receive 48 patties. The normal retail price on this package is $103.20, but now through Thursday April 24th only, the price is slashed to only $69.60! That is only $5.80 lb. (plus shipping) for pre-made grass-fed Bison Patties! Order here: http://www.grassfedtraditions.com/grass_fed_bison.htm?e421 40% OFF RETAIL FOR 15 lb. PAIL ORGANIC RAW HONEY Tropical Traditions Organic Raw Honey comes from the frontier areas of Canada, and is only harvested during a 6-week period in the summer. Tropical Traditions is the exclusive source of this premium organic honey in the US. Most commercial honeys available on the market today come from bee farms, where the bees are controlled within a certain area and get their pollen from usually only one kind of flower. Many of the plants that produce these flowers (clover, orange blossom, etc.) are grown with pesticides and fertilizers as well. In addition, almost all honeys on the market are pasteurized in high heat and filtered, removing many of the beneficial nutrients and enzymes. Tropical Traditions Organic Raw Honey has not been subjected to the heat of processing, only warmed enough to flow (same temperatures the honey would see inside the hive). We select only premium honey that is pure, smooth and creamy, with the consistency of soft margarine. It contains live yeast and enzymes, because it has not been processed. It also contains pollen because it has not been filtered - merely screened. Fine textured crystals are characteristic of totally pure, unheated, unprocessed, raw honey. Properly crystallized honey has a fine, smooth texture. Crystallized honey preserves natural goodness and doesn't drip. The more rapidly honey crystallizes the finer the texture will be. In order for honey to be certified organic, the beehives must be placed in isolated areas miles from the dense population, industry, traffic congestion, and farm fields treated with chemicals and landfills. Second, a bee's flying range is determined by their natural instinct which tells them to stay within their natural four mile range from the hive location. Finding area which can be certified organic is extremely difficult, which is why there are so few certified organic honeys on the market. Tropical Traditions sources its honey from hives in the wild frontier areas of Canada. These regions are a rich source of wild vegetation that produce some of the finest honey in the world. The USDA and Canadian Organic Certification implies a rigorous set of standards and conditions that must be adhered to by both the producer (beekeeper) and the packager. All aspects of the honey production including the source of the nectar, forage area of the bees, management of the bees, extracting process, transportation, 'lot' management, processing temperature, integrity (no co-mingling with non-organic honey), screening, and, packaging materials, are taken into account in the certification process. Try some, and we think you'll agree that there is no finer honey in North America! Now, you can purchase a 15 lb. pail of this premium honey for 40% off the retail price! The normal retail price is $150.00, and you can get it for only $90.00 through Sunday April 27th. Order here: http://www.tropicaltraditions.com/organic_raw_honey.htm?s=421 ORGANIC COCONUT CREAM CONCENTRATE 16 OZ.: BUY 1 GET 1 FREE Coconut Cream Concentrate is certified organic whole coconut meat in concentrated form. It contains no additives (not even water). The dried coconut meat is ground into a very fine powder, giving it a creamy consistency due to its high fat content. Since it is 70% fat, it is a rich source of pure virgin coconut oil. Note: this is a food, not a cooking oil. It is an excellent ingredient for cooking and baking. Because of its low moisture content, it can be mixed right in the batter or dough of breads and pastries. It can also enhance soups, be blended with smoothies, or made into ice cream. Many people just eat it straight, or spread it on breads and crackers, because it is so delicious! Now, until Sunday April 27th only, you can purchase 1 pint at the retail price and get the second pint FREE! The normal retail price for two pints is $28.00, but now you can purchase 2 pints for only $14.00! Order here: http://www.tropicaltraditions.com/coconut_cream_concentrate.htm?e421 50% OFF ORGANIC COCONUT WATER VINEGAR 32 OZ. The water inside the coconut shell is packed with nutrients that nourishes the nut as it prepares to germinate and start growing into a new coconut tree, which is exactly what would happen if you let a coconut fall from the tree to the ground and leave it there, given the proper moisture and soil conditions. Coconut water is high in many vitamins and minerals, especially potassium. Because it contains electrolytes, it is considered one of the best natural rehydrating drinks in the tropics. Pasteurized coconut water retains most of the minerals, and is frequently sold as a sports drink. Since fresh coconut water deteriorates so quickly once it is exposed to air, it is best obtained and consumed in the tropics where it can be purchased fresh, with all the nutrients and enzymes in tact. Packaged coconut waters must be pasteurized, destroying some of the nutrients. It has been reported that during World War II coconut water was used in emergencies as IV fluids, since the nutrient-packed water is completely sterile inside the coconut until the hard shell is cracked and it is exposed to air. In the Philippines and other tropical places, raw coconut water is often left in the open air to ferment, where it eventually turns into a vinegar. The fermentation process enhances the nutrients, unlike heat pasteurization. The acidic environment prevents the growth of undesirable bacteria naturally. Tropical Traditions worked with professors at the University of the Philippines for several years to develop an incubation system that could produce clean coconut water vinegar from our certified organic coconuts (used to make our Virgin Coconut Oil) and retain the mother of vinegar (a colony of bacteria cultures) as a truly raw product. We use the mother of vinegar to inoculate future batches of organic coconut water vinegar. Organic Whole Muscabado Sugar We use only certified organic Muscabado whole cane sugar in the fermentation of our vinegar, grown by a cooperative of small scale family farmers in the Philippines. The sugar is also Fair Trade certified. Muscabado sugar is a whole sugar that is extracted from the sugar cane using traditional methods. It contains all the natural nutrients found in raw sugar cane or molasses. Sugar is needed in the fermentation process, and most other vinegars are made with refined white sugar. Our Muscabado whole cane sugar is a deep brown in color, which gives a brown coloring to our vinegar. While the sugar is needed in the fermentation process, it is used up during fermentation and there is no sugar content left in the vinegar. A Truly Unique Vinegar! Tropical Traditions Organic Coconut Water Vinegar is truly unique and is the first of its kind in the US market! Most vinegars are clear because they are distilled and originally made from white sugar. Our Organic Coconut Water Vinegar is not distilled, but raw. It contains the mother of vinegar. In the Philippines most all commercial vinegars are distilled, and the " coconut vinegars " are not made from the nutrient-packed coconut water from inside the coconut, but from the sap of the coconut tree which is used to make lambanog, an alcoholic drink similar to vodka. These " coconut vinegars " are by-products of the lambanog industry. To make these products, one must harvest the sap of the coconut tree from the coconut flower bud, which would normally become a fruit-bearing coconut. Hence, trees dedicated to harvesting the sap for lambanog and the more common coconut vinegar will never produce coconuts. Tropical Traditions does NOT support coconut products that prevent coconut trees from bearing fruit (this would include " coconut sugar " harvested from the flowering bud of the coconut tree.) Coconut trees in the Philippines have been on the decline for decades, and the coconut oil from coconuts is also now valued as a fuel source in bio-diesel production, resulting in less coconut oil availability as a food source each year. Vinegar made from coconut water, however, does not sacrifice coconuts or coconut oil in its production, as it is collected from mature coconuts which are used to make coconut oil, and the same trees can continue producing coconuts year after year. Tropical Traditions is the first company to make a truly organic product from the water of organic coconuts which is raw and fermented with fair-trade organic Muscabado whole cane sugar. This is one of the most nutrient-packed and healthiest vinegars you will find anywhere in the world! Now until Sunday April 27th only, you can order a 32 oz. size for 50% OFF the retail price! Order here: http://www.tropicaltraditions.com/organic_coconut_water_vinegar.htm?e=421 NEW PRODUCT: ORGANIC AGAVE SYRUP Agave Syrup is a 100% organic fructose sweetener extracted from the Agave plant. Traditionally, the indigenous people of Mexico gathered the sweet juice, aguamiel, from various species of Agave. They used it as a sweetener and to prepare special celebratory beverages. Examination of this plant reveals a high level of polyfructose or inulin. A gentle enzymatic process has been developed which transforms the polyfructose into a simple fructose and dextrose syrup, a pure natural sweetener called Agave nectar or Agave syrup. Our supply of Organic Agave Syrup comes from a cooperative of small-scale family farmers in Mexico. Agave Syrup has the following characteristics: 1) Agave Syrup is high in fructose. It is sweeter than refined sugar (approximately 1.4 times sweeter). Fructose does not stimulate digestive insulin secretion as do other sugars. It is less disturbing to the glycemic index. In common parlance, it does not create a " sugar rush. " 2) Agave Syrup is produced in two different grades varying in flavor and color: light and amber. The light grade of Agave Syrup is flavor neutral, enhancing the natural flavors of coffee, tea, fruit beverages, baked goods, fresh fruits, fruit smoothies & protein drinks, salad dressings, jams and jellies, ice cream, yoghurts, and various prepared foods, without altering their flavor. This is in marked contrast with bee honey, malt barley syrup, and certain other natural sugar substitutes that do alter the flavor of the products they sweeten. The amber grade offers the delicate flavor of Agave with increasing intensity. The amber grade is much like honey and delicious in tea, suitable to sweeten a wide variety of foods, dry and hot cereals, pancakes, waffles, baked goods, and sauces. Heavier sauces such as BBQ, spaghetti, stews and meat glazes may be enhanced by the amber grade of Agave Syrup which delivers the rich and complex flavors distinctive to Agave. Glycemic Index: This concept can be important from a metabolic standpoint, especially to diabetics, along with athletes and grossly overweight individuals. The index is an indicator as to how much blood sugar increases in 2-3 hours after specific food consumption. Most if not all carbohydrates are normally metabolized into the simple carbohydrate glucose, which in the glycemic index concept is arbitrarily assigned a value of 100. As a result, the higher a glycemic index food number is, the faster it raises your blood sugar level. Foods or ingredients with glycemic index numbers close to or above 100 present some significant health issues to diabetics, and in general, sweeteners of all kinds should be avoided by diabetics. Nonetheless, for those diabetics who choose to consume certain amounts of carbohydrates, Agave Syrup, it should be noted, has a lower glycemic index than honey. Agave Syrup was found to have a glycemic index of approximately 34 - 38. In contrast, honey has a reported glycemic index of 58, due to its higher ratio of glucose to fructose.
