Guest guest
You know, I actually had a mother (who USED to be a friend) tell me that since I do not vaccinate my children, one day "they" would get me for child neglect. Of course we're not friends any longer...but....it just makes my stomach turn when I hear stories like this...and I've heard so many. It is ABSOLUTELY HEARTBREAKING. Pardon me for being on my soap box, but living the way we do...it's amazing to me how some of the other neighborhood moms, even though they LIKE me...give me those funny looks when I say I dont give shots....or how they think my kids are "missing out" because I make them homemade goodies instead of feeding them Twinkies and such....... Guest guest
You know what. I feel the same way! My lastest thing is getting rid of any BPA ridden plastics in my house. And people are thinking I am crazy. But you know what? My choices harm NO ONE. So why not just let me be. You know if my choice was to rub my kids in BPA then I could understand. But I am trying to help not harm. Sorry... Just ranting. Guest guest
Did you hear about the parents in MD (I think) who were going to be arrested for not vaccinating their children? Totally illegal, of course, but they still did it. It's a battle you'll always have to fight with the school system, and the legal system. Good for you for not getting vaccinations. And for the homemade treats, lol. I think the goold old twinkie symbolizes every single thing wrong with our food supply today, lol. Guest guest
Oh, feel free to rant, we all feel the same way about plastics, lol. You know, I happened to mention the dangers of plastics, and microwaves, and microwaving plastics, on another list I am on, one time. Well, you'd have thought I said I hated the USA, lol. I promptly got several emails citing statistics/dogma on how SAFE platics and microwaves are, lol. These same people are addicted to cream of mushroom soup (this was a cooking group) and I eventually had to unsub or risk being kicked off because i was so frustrated that noone could post a recipe that didn't have a damned cream of X soup in the recipe. Ugh! Cyndi Michelle <suprmommy RealSimple Wed, 16 Apr 2008 1:19 pm Re: [RealSimple] The Vaccine-Autism Court Document Every American Should Read You know what. I feel the same way! Ugh! LOL, when my parents moved to a small town years back they got a knock on the door christmas eve-the neighbor boy sent over to borrow a can of cream of 'shroom soup. Mom replied we didn't have any. He said Oh no! Well, we'll have to go to town, how many should we get for you? The expression on his face when she said no thanks, we don't use it was priceless. Obviously he couldn't conceive of Christmas dinner without canned soup. That was the same year I flew back to college with one of Dad's giant home grown leeks. It was as big around as baseball bat and about half as long and I had it wrapped up in my carry on luggage. It brought a crowd of security folks around while I tried to explain it was a leek, you know, a vegetable--like a giant green onion. I had to dig it out, unwrap it and I nearly missed my flight while explaining to the crowd what it was, how it grew and how to cook it. I don't think I'd even attempt to fly with a leek these days. Fortunately I have my own garden now. Ellen
Guest guest
hehehehe, isnt that the truth. Lord help those who eat Twinkies. I did hear about those parents. Geeeeez. They'd HAVE to haul me to jail before I vaccinated my kiddos. lol. Actually, I would homeschool if I had to. Or put them in school at our church. Private schools have different rules that apply when it comes to vaccinations. Whatever it takes, right?cyndikrall wrote: Did you hear about the parents in MD (I think) who were going to be arrested for not vaccinating their children? Guest guest
Yes, indeed, and I think religious reasons are still honored in the schools, but I'm not sure how much longer that will last. Or maybe they've stopped allowing that at all. Cyndi In a message dated 4/16/2008 5:53:52 P.M. Pacific Daylight Time, sheropesem writes: hehehehe, isnt that the truth.
