3 Products Good for your Body, Soul, and Planet

I've been subscribing to Ode magazine, a magazine dedicated to the many positive things that people are doing to change the world. The article that caught my eye was described as "Its fourth annual organic top 20: Our list of praiseworthy products that are good for your body, your soul, and the planet.

Half of the items described were foods and supplements. These weekly health tips include lots of information about those. However, the other ten items were very new to me and sounded healthy in a variety of creative ways. Here are three; hopefully one will peak your interest!

First, a product called gdiapers (gdiapers.com) was developed by Jason and Kim Graham-Nye. They describe them as "hybrid diapers" which balance conservation and convenience. The exterior "little-g" pants are reusable and made primarily of breathable cotton. The interior contains a "flushable" plastic-free insert that goes to the sewer instead of the landfill.

The second product is a cell sensor gauss meter (lifeextension.com) which monitors the strength of low-frequency electromagnetic fields (EMFs) emitted by everything from televisions to microwave ovens to cell phones to electric toothbrushes to hair dryers and more. Research indicates that our health is negatively affected by the bombardment of EMF's around us. You can walk through your house or workplace with this meter and watch both the audible and visible alerts. If any appliance puts out too many gauss, you just move it away from the most frequently used areas of the room.

And third, the British manufacturer Vegware (vegware.co.uk) has created a line of biodegradable or compostable alternatives to silverware, plates, cups, napkins, ". . . . and, ". . . for the ultimate summer experience, ice cream spoons made from 80% non-genetically modified potato starch and 20% vegetable oil."
