We all have computers, my kids are adults but still live at home, (in college) and we all have our computers on all day. They are on surge protectors, but turning them off is meaningless here. Just too many tv's, vcr's computers and electronics to even try to shut off when not in use. How sad is that? But they are all computer geeks (not me!) so there's not much i can do about it except yammer on about the electric bill, and try to get them to think about shutting down their own stuff when not in use. I have a little wind up clock next to my bed. That's about as technical as I like it, lol. I don't know if I obeyed at the time, but habits did sink in and stick so it's all 2nd nature to me now, so keep after them.
