Guest guest
GabrieleI have had my thyroid checked. It was about a yr or two ago at the endocrinologist - she checked EVERYTHING. I've always been a bit cold in A/C but i feel like everywhewre here must be below 70. I most comfortable at 74, but had deal with 72. 70 is a bit chilly and anything below that and i'm freezing. lol thanks fot the concern and suggestion terrigabriele <gcliburn wrote: terri , i just read about you being cold in florida ... i also live here ... just east of you in polk . your being cold all the time , shocked me into thinking . pardon being frank with you . but i am ALWAYS hot !!! i am getting old and probably am doing menopause ... oh well . but have you had your thyroid checked ??? being cold all the time is a sign of a non fuctioning thyroid . they have bloodtests they can do for that , but they are not always accurate . if you want to do a test yourself , check your thyroid this way for a week , every morning , BEFORE you even turn over , take your temperature .if your temperature is consistently below normal , your thyroid is not working propperly . then go to Dr and find out what they might want to do . you can get herbal supplements that will SUPPORT a thyroid and you can eventually get off of them . but if you go on medication , that will shut the rest of the thyroid down and you will have to take it forever . the dr does not tell you THAT . anyhow ... check it out , i think there is sosmething not right .
