BANG FOR THE BITE

If 10,000 Biters opt for a 100% recycled journal rather than a nonrecycled one, we'll avert the weight of 73 writing desks in virgin paper.

COCKTAIL FACTOID

Fake diaries of Hitler (including implausible sentences such as " I have violent flatulence " ) sold for about $4 mil to a German collector in 1981.

What are a Biter's deepest, darkest secrets?

The Bite

Wouldn't you just love to know. Write down your own innermost thoughts in a good lookin' and sustainable journal - but don't hide it under your mattress, 'cuz that's the first place snoopers look.

The Benefits

More trees. Americans already use more than 90 mil tons of paper products per year, so go with recycled versions made from materials other than virgin wood.

Pretty papers. Journals made from alternative (and sustainable) fibers like kenaf and lokta bark are just plain better lookin' than your average spiral notebook.

Getting stuff off your chest. Journals are a whole lot cheaper than visits to the shrink.

Personally Speaking

Heather's kept a journal since she was fifteen and has a personal blog online. She won't give us the address, but you can check out a page from the past in today's blog.
