We've let four new members in the door this week. Welcome! I haven't gotten around to preparing a nice, informative welcome file (it's on my To Do List) but I wanted to say HELLO.

This is a pretty quiet list, not much chatter. Some of our more talkative members are off on Away Missions, so it's quieter than normal. But please feel free to introduce yourselves and ask questions. One new member mentioned an interest in raw milk. We'll be happy to help all we can.

I think you'll find that many of us are on very different levels, as far as eating healthy foods and simplifying our lives goes. We're all taking baby steps and trying to learn as much as we can as we go.

We'd love to hear from our new members, if you want to introduce yourselves, or just say hi.

Welcome, Kris! Thanks for introducing yourself. I think you'll find you're not alone if your boyfriend isn't completely on board yet, lol.

Hi. I'm Kris, one of the new members. At 28 I am finally just starting to get into this "living green" and having a difficult time getting my boyfriend to go along.... sigh. Any advice is welcome on how to get started. I am taking baby steps, though, and being out of work has put a pretty deep dent in my budget. Maybe I should start my own recyclable collection agency...lol... Anyways, I look forward to learning what I can from you guys, and maybe even sharing what little I already know. Thanks!!~Kris

Hi Dawn,

Welcome! And how lucky are you to be able to drink your raw milk straight from the cow! What state do you live in? What are the laws in your state regarding raw milk? I live in CA, where raw milk is under fire right now, and we who drink raw milk are desperately trying to preserve our raw milk rights.

Hi Cyndi,

I’m in Virginia where raw milk sales are illegal,

but I have a cow share and own part of my cow and pay the farmer a boarding fee

to milk my cow.

It is pretty scary what they are doing

about raw milk around the country. I was unaware CA was under fire.

Let’s get Ron Paul on as pres and he’ll help us out.

Hi Dawn,

It's good that cow shares are still allowed for you. Many states don't even allow them. Today there was a large raw milk rally in Sacramento, to protest the new law that makes it very hard to sell raw milk in CA. I couldn't go, working today, but I can't wait to hear the reports from the people that did go. I'm keeping my fingers crossed there was a good turn out, and that they'll be taken seriously.

I told Sluggy the other day (she's another member of this group, but out of town at the moment) that RP was way to smart to be elected President. I think political parties just want someone dumb that they can control.

Hi Cyndi,

Too true about RP. In the WAPF magazine

this month it talks about CA milk struggles.
