BANG FOR THE BITE

If 10,000 Biters register today and vote in favor of eco-minded candidates and policies, we'll give the peeps on Capitol Hill a little nudge in the right direction.

COCKTAIL FACTOID

Ludacris and Paris Hilton, two of the celebs who appeared in 2004's " Vote or Die " campaign, never registered to vote.

Where can you make a lotta noise without offending any eardrums?

The Bite

A voting booth. In case you crawled out from under a rock and haven't noticed the constant bombardment of political messaging everywhere you turn, it's an election year, so get registered to vote, find out where the candidates stand on eco-issues, and make your voice heard like the opinionated Biter you are.

The Benefits

Doin' your duty. Unlike booths of the John Wilkes ilk, voting booths are one of the places where democracy really happens.

It's crazy-easy. You do have to leave your house to register - but only to visit your mailbox.

Paid leave. In most states, employers are required to let employees go to the polls on Election Day. (Nyah-nyah, Boss!)

Personally Speaking

Heather got to vote on a wilderness bill on her 18th birthday. Unfortch, the bill didn't pass, so she decided to give up on the environment for about a decade. Fortunately, her fit of pique eventually passed.
