50% OFF GRASS-FED BEEF RIB EYE STEAKS ENDS THURSDAY!

Grass-Fed Traditions currently supplies 100% grass-fed beef from small-scale

family farms in Wisconsin. Our cows are all grass-fed Angus and Galloway (mostly

Galloway). How do we define " grass-fed? " The cows are on pasture, not in feed

lots eating silage. They are also finished on grass, and do not eat grains at

all. We don't process animals in the Winter or early Spring, when they are only

eating dry grass. Our animals are eating green grass right up to the time of

processing, and are dry aged before packaging. Many sources of " grass-fed " beef

today are simply from cows in feedlots eating silage year round.

The CLA Advantage

Conjugated Linoleic Acid (CLA) is a naturally occurring free fatty acid found

mainly in meat and dairy products in small amounts. CLA was discovered by

accident in 1978 by Michael W. Pariza at the University of Wisconsin while

looking for mutagen formations in meat during cooking. The most abundant source

of natural CLA is the meat and dairy products of grass-fed animals. Research

conducted since 1999 shows that grazing animals have from 3-5 times more CLA

than animals fattened on grain in a feedlot. Simply switching from grain-fed to

grass-fed products can greatly increase your intake of CLA. (Dhiman, T. R., G.

R. Anand, et al. (1999). " Conjugated linoleic acid content of milk from cows fed

different diets. " J Dairy Sci 82(10): 2146-56.)

Omega 3's

Omega 3 is an essential fatty acid for human growth and development. We must

have it to be healthy. Grass-finished beef is a great source for this essential

nutrient. The source of Omega 3 is the green leaves of plants. When cattle eat

their natural diet, beef becomes a great source of Omega 3. Grain is not a rich

source of Omega 3, so standard, cattle-finishing practices cause the Omega 3

level to decrease dramatically.

Galloway Cattle

Galloway cattle are an ancient breed that originated in the rugged hill country

of southwestern Scotland. They are related to the Angus which was developed in

northeastern Scotland. While the Angus was selected for rapid growth on better

feed, the Galloway was selected for its ability to thrive on poor forage in a

cold wet climate. They were first imported to the states in the 1850s. They are

still rare in North America, and worldwide only number about 10,000. Their

popularity is now increasing with the renewed interest in grass-fed and

grass-finished beef.

The Galloway, unrivaled as a grazing breed, utilizes coarse grasses frequently

shunned by other breeds. They have the ability to produce a high quality beef

product directly from grass. Due to the breed's naturally dense, insulating coat

the Galloway does not layer on excessive outside fat. Results of a multi-breed

research project conducted by a Canadian Government Experiment Station, reveal

that the Galloway ranks second only to the Buffalo in hair density tests. The

robust, hardy nature of the Galloway is especially suited for northern harsh

climates. The claim that Galloway beef is juicy, tender, and flavorful is

substantiated in recent USDA tests of Galloway crossbreds, when compared with

eleven other breeds. Results of the Cycle IV Germ Plasm Evaluation (GPE) Program

at the USDA Meat Animal Research Center (MARC), Clay Center, Nebraska, showed

the Galloway crosses placing at the top of the chart for flavor, juiciness and

tenderness.

Through Thursday December 27th only, you can save 50% OFF the retail price on 8

packages of premium boneless Rib Eye steaks. These retail for $150.00, but are

now only $75.00! Order here:

GOLD LABEL ORGANIC VIRGIN COCONUT OIL QUARTS: BUY 1 GET 1 FREE

Our Traditional Organic Virgin Coconut Oil has a completely redesigned label,

and is now called “Gold Label Virgin Coconut Oil.” Gold Label Virgin Coconut Oil

is the same Virgin Coconut Oil that Tropical Traditions has sold for the past 6+

years, and has now been enhanced to the point where we have developed even

higher standards for the production of this premium Virgin Coconut Oil. It

contains the highest levels of antioxidants. While almost all Virgin Coconut

Oils sold in the US are mass-produced, Tropical Traditions still produces their

Virgin Coconut Oil by hand in small batches by family micro enterprises. Most of

them have been producing Virgin Coconut oil for over 6 years. They have learned

what it takes to produce the highest quality oil, such as how to hand pick the

best coconuts from each harvest.

Their most recent discovery in 2007 came when certain groups in rural areas had

problems with water sources. Water is needed to make the coconut milk from which

the oil is extracted. Using true Filipino ingenuity, they started collecting and

using the pure nutritious coconut water from inside the organic coconuts

instead. They noticed that the water separated from the oil much quicker, that

less heat was needed at the end, and that less filtering was needed also. The

end result was a higher quality and better tasting Virgin Coconut Oil.

Independent laboratory analysis shows that this new method produces even higher

levels of antioxidants than first tested in 2006 by Professor Dia, which showed

our Virgin Coconut Oil to contain higher amounts of antioxidants than any other

Virgin Coconut Oil they had tested. So we now require all of our Virgin Coconut

Oil producers to use the pure coconut water from their coconuts instead of

boiled or purified tap water. This enhanced Virgin Coconut Oil with the highest

levels of antioxidants is now our Gold Label Virgin Coconut Oil.

From now until Sunday December 30th, you can purchase 1 quart of certified

organic Gold Label Virgin Coconut Oil from Tropical Traditions for $35.00 and

get a second quart for FREE. That’s a $70.00 value for only $35.00! Order here:

33% OFF GRASS-FED BISON PATTIES

Our source for bison products comes from northern Wisconsin where the animals

are grazed on prairie grass. The animals are 100% grass fed, and are also

" finished " on grass. The products offered here are from the same buffalos that

supply top-quality bison to many fine restaurants and shops across the U.S. Now

you can have this premium source of meat delivered directly to your home!

Grass-fed animals have been shown to be higher in Omega 3 fatty acids than

grain-fed and finished livestock. CLA is also an essential fatty acid found

primarily in grass-fed animals. Some studies have also shown that grass-fed

bison contain up to 4 times more selenium than grain-fed bison.

Bison contains more protein in relation to calories than beef. Bison are very

hearty animals and are genetically a purer strain of red meat than most other

meats. Bison do not have to be kept in barns, and can survive very harsh

winters, finding grass to eat even when buried by a couple feet of snow! Bison

is a very healthy, traditional source of meat in North America. And this is the

premiere source of Bison in the U.S.! Most other sources of Bison are NOT 100%

grass-fed, but include grains in the feed as well. These bison are NOT treated

with hormones or antibiotics. They are naturally healthy and hearty animals. We

only process our bison in the late spring through fall when they are grazing on

green grass.

Through Sunday December 30th only, you can purchase 12 packages of ground Bison

Patties at 33% OFF the retail price. These patties of premium grass-fed Bison

are ¼ lb. each, and you will receive 48 patties. The normal retail price on this

package is $103.20, but now through Sunday December 30th only, the price is

slashed to only $69.60! That is only $5.80 lb. (plus shipping) for pre-made

grass-fed Bison Patties! Order here:

http://www.grassfedtraditions.com/grass_fed_bison.htm?e1224

Note: to ensure delivery by New Years order by December 25th.

ORGANIC COCONUT CREAM CONCENTRATE 16 OZ.: BUY 1 GET 1 FREE

Coconut Cream Concentrate is certified organic whole coconut meat in

concentrated form. It contains no additives (not even water). The dried coconut

meat is ground into a very fine powder, giving it a creamy consistency due to

its high fat content. Since it is 70% fat, it is a rich source of pure virgin

coconut oil. Note: this is a food, not a cooking oil.

It is an excellent ingredient for cooking and baking. Because of its low

moisture content, it can be mixed right in the batter or dough of breads and

pastries. It can also enhance soups, be blended with smoothies, or made into ice

cream. Many people just eat it straight, or spread it on breads and crackers,

because it is so delicious!

Now, until Sunday December 30th only, you can purchase 1 pint at the retail

price and get the second pint FREE! The normal retail price for two pints is

$28.00, but now you can purchase 2 pints for only $14.00!
