need some plant advise/help

I've attached 2 pics of a leaf off of the little tree we planted in May. It was doing great but now all the leaves have started to do this. I know this isn't normal or just the leaves changing because it's fall.

What is wrong with my tree and will it live?? eek

It's a hybrid magnolia called a Lemon Magnolia. They are bred to withstand winters up here.
