Guest guest
Someone from another list I am on gave me this link for a homemade dehydrator that would work for multiple quarts of yogurt (we go through approx. 3 quarts per week)... http://www.k-clements.fsnet.co.uk/dehydrator.html I'm pretty excited to try it out, although I'm wondering if the two lightbulbs put inside the oven would work just as well. I would never get my money's worth from the excalibur since I would only make crispy nuts with it & yogurt, but this homemade one just might suit my needs & also fulfill my need for simplicity & frugality. A meat grinder would be great also Cyndi! I keep trying to make my own cat food, & a grinder would be helpful... but again, justifying the price? Thanks, Angela

Guest guest
Cee, I have a dehydrator I got from a thrift store, but it is questionable, lol. I've tried it a few times and never seemed to get the results the booklet said I would. And then I was afraid to eat the stuff, lol. I need to clean it up and try it again this year. ;-)Cyndi In a message dated 5/12/2007 9:04:13 A.M. (You can see the pics of the carrots she made in it on her website.) I've occasionally seen them at garage sales also, so keep an eye out. Like the bread machine and a few other appliances I've gotten from garage sales and freecycle, I don't use mine often enough to make it worth spedning the money on. I don't feel bad about using it only occasionally when it's free or low cost... <wink-wink>--Cee-- See what's free at AOL.com.

Guest guest
I want to be able to grind up meat and bones. My cats don't recognize whole meat as food, lol.
