Call me simple minded, but I was truly shocked! I am more than aware

of the deep corruption in our government and favoritism to big business

(the good-old-boy network), but this information had to pass through

many hands...and not one of them saw fit to came forward or leak this

info to the press?!?!?! These are our CHILDREN--our future--using

these lunch boxes...

My expectations have fallen to a new low. You are so right,

Ellen...they CANNOT be trusted. :(

Noone at the CPSC can be that dimwitted. What did they think would happen if someone put a piece of fruit in there like an apple, that wouldn't have a wrapper? I'm sure they knew exactly what they were doing! Sounds to me like more behind the scenes pressure to push products thru that have no business being out there...Like Barbara often tells me, thank God for the internet, where we can find out all these things for ourselves. :-(Cyndi

Nope cannot trust them at all. I never used to think that way but to be honest, working for the govt for 6 years changed that. They don't have our best interests at heart at all. Not to mention the fact that my sister's hubby works for the CDC in Atlanta and she prefers not to vaccinate her kids.... tells me something!Ellen LaFleche-Christian Lilac Hill Homestead / Vermont http://tinyurl.com/lpfaf

Cee, I copied this link from Shirleys Wellness Cafe...lots of info on vaccines here, both for humans and pets. Browse thru the links when you get a chance. :-)

c

I'm sure there's a lot more info out there, this is just a nice place to read a sampling of articles on vacines. Cyndi

All I know is that they have proven that there is a correlation between certain vaccines & the increase of autism specturm disorders in children (IE autism, aspergers, ADHD, ADD, etc.) Sadly I didn't know this when my kids were little so they had all their shots.Ellen LaFleche-Christian Lilac Hill Homestead / Vermont http://tinyurl.com/lpfaf

Ellen, who are " they " that have *proven* it? Seriously...can you

point me to some kind of credible proof and not just anecdotal

evidence? While the incidence of asthma and autism has gone up

dramatically, so has the definition of the diseases changed

considerably. For instance, when I was a kid, you had to have active

asthma attacks on a regular basis to be considered 'asthmatic.' My

sister Yvonne was at the hospital once or twice a month with asthma

attacks when we were growing up, but the rest of us kids just

had 'allergies.' By today's standards, I have asthma as well as half

of my family. The broadening of the definition took my family from

one asthmatic to 6 overnight!

Part of my serious questioning is just how the new, broader

definitions have changed the stats vs. an actual increase in

disease? That particular subject was even discussed on the TODAY

show a few weeks ago when they talked about the terrific increase in

autism. The medical expert that talked with Matt Lauer and Meredith

Viera even admitted that because the medical definitions have changed

so much in the last few decades, no one really knows how much of a

true increase in those particular diseases is accurate and how much

was attributed to " other " problems in the past...

Once upon a time I was a staunch vegetarian and believed that eating

animal products was poisonous to one's health, but not any more. I

was shown credible enough evidence to change my mind, and I could

change my mind about this too. But as far as vaccines go, the

verdict is still out to me. No one needs to convince me that

vaccines have done some harm...I am smarter than that. But I need

more conclusive proof to sway me that *all* vaccines are both useless

and harmless...

Hi Celia - I've seen lots of studies. I'm not a doctor so I cannot prove or disprove one way or another but from what I've seen, there is enough evidence for me to be concerned. http://www.adhdnews.com/testforum/test13358.htmEllen LaFleche-Christian Lilac Hill Homestead / Vermont http://tinyurl.com/lpfaf

Celia, there was no autism in Africa until the vaccines were introduced by the westerners, but it is there now.

By your logic, you can dismiss any and all arguments against the vaccines but in the meantime smart people who decline the vaccines are saving their kids and their pets from life in misery.

Ellen...very good site. Thank you for the link!

The author of the article does a great job explaining the background

and history of vaccines as well as siting good source material. He

has credibility in my book. He also does not dispute that

vaccinations can work, but clearly outlines the dangers of using them

in such a way that the risk/benefit ratio becomes heavily slanted

*against* using them, even without the mercury.

I was always aware that every vaccination came with risks, but I can

see now that they are far more dangerous than I ever imagined. What

he says about overstimulating a baby's immune system with too many

vaccines close together makes a lot of sense also...

I think I will forget my flu shots until they come out with mercury

free ones...and even then I will examine the risk/benefit ration

carefully! That's one less poison that I don't need. :)

You're welcome :) Glad to help. It just really upsets me that there are so many things out there with the potential to hurt us and the government doesn't tell us about it. They not only DON'T protect us, they actually lie and cover-up for big

business interests. It's the old story...follow the money.

No kidding! Especially about the mercury fillings...of which I have

had many in the past.

Apparently the mercury they use now isn't as "pure" as it was when we were young. Not that it makes the vaccinations we got any safer, lol, but as with so many other things, quality ain't what it used to be!

I was browsing thru those links on the Shirleys Wellness Cafe site that I sent to the list. Apparently many instances of cancer and tumors forming at vac sites in pets have been reported, so pets are also very susceptible too... I always wondered about cancer in pets, but I've been blaming it on tap water all these years, til I started reading more about it. I still think tap water shares some of the blame...

Don't even get me started on flu shots! They are such a rip-off!

Generally they're not matched to whatever flu strain is going around.

I stopped getting them several years ago, which my Western health

care providers think is risky since I have asthma, but haven't had the

flu once. A couple of colds, but the flu shot wouldn't haven't saved

me from them anyway.

I still think developing a healthy immune system is the best strategy

of all.
