Since we were talking about solar homes, I thought I'd send this link, it has some fun solar projects. :-)Cyndi BuildItSolar: Solar energy projects for Do It Yourselfers to save money and reduce pollution http://www.builditsolar.com/

Since we were talking about solar homes, I thought I'd send this link, it has some fun solar projects. :-) Cyndi BuildItSolar: Solar energy projects for Do It Yourselfers to save money and reduce pollution http://www.builditsolar.com/ ************************ My goal is to find a fixer upper to redo.....redoing will include solar panels. I'd love to put panels on this house as we are on a mtn. and specifically on a hill so it's the high pt. in the neighborhood and we get some awesome sun w/little treeshade on the house in back. The problem is installing enough solar to make it worthwhile is an expensive outlay. We won't be here long enough(the for sale sign hits the front lawn as soon as Noah's diploma ink is dry!lol) to see them pay for themselves and reap the longterm benefits. All the surrounding states here have nice rebate incentives to help pay for the install, but not PA. Figures......all the coal interests here are all about keeping solar use out of PA!argh So I am stuck with having to wait and find a cheap place I need to dump money into the basic systems. I also want a tankless hot water system and a composting toilet or two. If I could get the time and money I was thinking about taking a cob building seminar this summer. I use to sculpt and I know I'd have fun creating a house that way.lolol sluggy
