(I'm kinda tired of using my slow cooker every day) I wonder if anyone uses it and what are the bad sides of them. They are very cheap too! Can anyone help? When we replaced our stove/oven a few years ago we went with a convection oven. It was more expensive but over time, we've saved time(thus energy use)cooking with it, so it's about paid for the added cost by now. I higly recommend convection cooking. There's no real difference that we've found in taste of what you cook(nothing tastes worse and a few things cook more evenly w/out overcooked spots/raw spots). It does take a bit to learn how much less you need to cook things compared to reg. oven cooking though so there is a learning curve in it's use. I would think that this mini convection would be an energy saver over say running a fullsized convection oven and if you don't need a larger capacity(aren't cooking for a large family)it makes sense. Reading it, this Turbo Oven sounds a bit like a hybrid of a convection and a pressure cooker? Sluggy, if you go to the westonaprice.org website, you can click on local chapters, and try to find one in your area. They are a great resource for organic local foods...even if there isn't one in your area, one in PA might still be a good resource. I joined the San Fran group too, just because they have so much more down there than we do up here (and we have pretty good food available.) Plus there's a lot of good discussions on that list.
