Guest guest
Oh, Greg, my dear friend, I feel for you! I'm getting scared for you too. Can you tell us a bit more about your diet-what do you eat on a typical day? How much water you drink, coffee, tea, etc. We sure aren't doctors, but maybe we can suggest some small changes that might help. I know you get a lot of exercise with your job. But I also know it's a high stress job, which probably isn't helping your health any. I have some neuropathy from chemo too. i don't think there's much you can do about it. It may go away on its own, and it could take several years. My doctor says it could take up to 5 years, or it may never go away. With diabetes, it's a common problem. I've heard of a new supplement that is supposed to lower cholesterol. I'll go find the link and send it to you. I have no personal experience with it. I think it's been used in Europe for many years, and just recently approved here in the States. Have you had your potassium and magnesium levels checked in a blood test lately? Ask your doctor to check them for you. Every time I go to the hospital they start pumping me full of both. I know deficiencies in both of these can cause some different health problems. Do you take vitamin supplements? I take something called Slow Mag that you can get at Walgreens. Hang in there, my dear friend. Let me know if there's ANYTHING I can do to help! To top things off, I also have high blood pressure, hypertension, high clorestoral, narcolepsi, and sleep apmea. Not to mention the diabetic neuropothy that plauges me daily. I feel like I'm on death's door. Last night before I went to bed I went ahead and made my peace with God because I seriously didn't think I would be waking back up. I was having chest pains, soreness in my left arm, and my lips went numb. Guest guest
I would too, if it were me. I'd do something drastic, and I'd do it right away. I know this goes against your doctors recommended diet, but it sounds like it's not working for you anyway. I also know that in a lot of cases, diabetes can be controlled entirely thru diet and exercise. You have to get rid of anything your body accepts as sugar, like grains. I'd also give up caffeine, while I was at it. And drink a LOT of water. Add some fish oil capsules to your diet, it also regulates your blood sugar and cholesterol naturally. And its good for your heart. You can always try it for a few days and see if it makes a difference. If you give up caffeine, it'll take a couple weeks of hell for it to work out of your system, so you can expect rebound headaches for a while. But you'll be healthier for it! If I was in your situation I would go on a strict high protein and high fat diet. It is known to regulate blood sugar and the blood pressure. Cholesterol is of no interest, it is a sham, don't worry about it. Are you overweight? High protein diet will get your weight down for sure, 100%. Get of the sugar and all grains and you will feel better right away. Your sleep apnea will go away when you lose weight. What are you eating? It is so hard to help you if I have no idea what your diet is. Give us more details. Barbara

Guest guest
Greg, I was once in your very shoes (uncontrolled diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, etc.), and went to bead one night with chest pain praying that I would wake up in the morning. Today I am almost medication free and I take NOTHING for my blood sugar...I am diet and exercise controlled. Unfortunately I have a lot of appointments today so I'm not sure when I will be able to address this for you, but I will get back to you as soon as possible. I am living proof that it can be done... Take heart and don't be scared! You have reached out for help and have decided to take the first step in a healthy direction, and with hard work and dedication, you can do it! Hang in there, and I promise I will talk to you later. <smiles> (((HUGS))) --Celia-- http://www.geocities.com/purplehazeartistry "Affluenza leads us to place a high value on earnings, possessions, appearances and celebrity, a low value on relationships, security, autonomy, friends and family, and blinds us to what makes us happy as human beings." Guest guest
Hi Greg, I googled for you and found this site. http://www.realfoodnutrients.com/NEU/home.htm?SID=G & gclid=CKHMuOuN-YkCFQ0RgQodfGZaOQ Did you try those supplements? They are guarranteed or your money back. Only $40. You have nothing to lose. Please, tell us more, so we do not repeat unnecesarily things that you tried but they did not work. On the other site there is a device that suppose to regenerate the lost nerve connections, but this is much more expensive. If you want to see it anyway here is a link. http://www.rebuildermedical.com/?refer=sleep & gclid=CJzmxYGT-YkCFSM0gQodkXMfOQ This is strictly for neuropathy, but all your other problems can be controlled by the diet and maybe vitamin and mineral supplements. Please, tell us more about your diet. Barbara I am a diabetic, and the doctor has me taking a pill to regulate my sugar. It dosen't seem to be working at all.
