Guest guest
Hi Kurt! Thanks so much for joining up. I know from past experience that you will have invaluable info to share with us! I haven't had a chance to formally welcome everyone to the group. But please, everyone, feel free to introduce yourself and tell us all a little about yourself-your goals, your dreams, the ways you have found to simplify your life, eat healthier, achieve peace of mind, or become self-sufficient, etc. I can't wait to get started! I have to go to Chemo today-my last round, YAY-so forgive me in advance if I seem absent over the next few days. I'll try to keep us as best I can. When I saw Cyndi's post I joined immediately, I was the 2nd member. I am a clothes hound for Cyndi's clothes, so just between the two of us we have been practicing reuse! BTW Cyndi, my company's holiday dinner was two weekends ago and I wore the beautiful London Fog coat from our swap 3 or 4 years ago and used the purse from our most recent swap, which was several months ago, thank you! And almost every day I wear something of yours to work. I have almost worn out the open toe shoes I got from you! xoxoxo Noëllecyndikrall wrote: Hi Kurt! Thanks so much for joining up. Cool idea about the swap group tho. I'm 64 (Oct 23, Libra), twice retired, single, and I live in central Fla. My favorite pastimes are horticulture, paddling kayak and canoe, nature-watching. I was an illustrator/graphics artist in a prior life (Air Force). I'm interested in people and the places they live, lifestyles, ethnicities. I particularly enjoy talking to older people about their life experiences. I like old things, real wood rather than plastic. And of course I try to keep things simple. Guest guest
Hello, all! <waves hands> So excited to be here, and THRILLED that Cyndi started this group! (Thank you, Cyndi!) It was becoming increasing clear over on the TWF board that there was a need for another forum for us to take our discussions, LOL! The nice part about a group like this is that a 'simple' lifestyle will mean so many things to different people, we will all have different needs and degrees of commitment, but we will all bring varying and interesting ideas to the table to share. <smiles> Lookin' forward to listening and sharing with all of you! --Cee-- RealSimple , Ellen Christian <scentednights2002 wrote: > > Hi Noelle, > Nice to see a familiar face! > > > Ellen LaFleche-Christian > Lilac Hill Homestead / Vermont > http://tinyurl.com/lpfaf >

Guest guest
Noelle, lol! I am so glad you are enjoying my clothing so much. I can't even remember what purse I gave you, lol. You are too funny! I LOVED that coat! I am happy it has a good home. Who is the hottie pictured with you in your profile? Is that your boyfriend? WOW, Is all I can say! If it's your son, I still say WOW, lol. I still have a fancy dress for you. I just haven't had the energy to deal with it, but it is YOU. For those of you who don't know me, I absolutely HATE wearing black, so I gave it all to Noelle, lol. Don't ask me why I had it in the first place! One of my first steps in decluttering! lol. Noelle has a nomadic spirit and has PERFECTED the art of keeping possessions simple! I KNOW she can help me, lol. Hugs, Cyndi In a message dated 12/28/2006 10:52:44 A.M. Guest guest
Cee, this has actually been in the back of my mind for a long time. You're right, it was becoming clear that we all needed a better venue to discuss the nutrition and lifestyle issues we were concerned about. And it gave me the push I needed! And you are absolutely right about what SIMPLE means to each of us! We all have to find the balance in our own lives and the mental freedom we feel we need. it will be different for each of us. The beauty is, we can ALL learn from each other, from the most radical to the most relaxed. So glad you are here! Love ya! Cyndi In a message dated 12/28/2006 12:25:00 P.M. And thanks so much for the Christmas card too. i'm sorry to say I did not send out any cards this year. Guest guest
You're not alone, my friend, others here have diabetes too, and I'm sure they can help you out. What kind of drug did your doctor want you to take? Have you done any research on the internet? Did he say why he thought you were a good candidate for the experiment?I'm with you for not wanting to be a guinea pig. i could have gone to UC Davis for treatment, and gotten into clinical trials, but i did not want to! I'm just not that brave, i guess. The good news is, diabetes is very controllable with diet and exercise. But you have to do what your doctor tells you, even if it's getting injections. It's not the end of the world, you can always stop the injections if you are successful in controlling the diabetes thru good nutrition. I KNOW you get a lot of exercise thru work! Please tell us more about your current diet, and any questions you might have about healthy eating choices. We'll all be glad to do what we can to help. :-)Hugs, Cyndi In a message dated 12/29/2006 4:42:30 P.M. Pacific Standard Time, nevels65 writes: Hey Cyndi, hey Holly, hey Brigitte, hey everybody! Guest guest
Hey, Greg...I'm Celia from Detroit. I have type II diabetes but take no medication...I am diet and exercise controlled. There are indeed natural ways to control it, but until that does happens, do NOT neglect your health. Do what you need to do, whatever medication that need be taken. The point is to be as healthy as possible, naturally if possible and medically if not. Just curious...do you know anything about this experimental shot he wants to try to you?
