Guest guest
Loretta,The first reaction was with Essence Life Gel. It gave me rashes, with a burning sensation. Today I received the Ancient Mineral Oil. I sprayed some on my shoulder and it gave my hands a rash (not my shoulders). Guest guest
Hi Maritza Because we have not had one person email us about rashes, I emailed the US distributor of Ancient Mineral Oil and he said the following. Try to dilute it as recommended and see if that helps and make sure that you are applying it to very clean skin. I know that my first experience with a lesser quality magnesium oil was that after several days the palms of my hands began to peel. I have not had this happen with Ancient Mineral Oil. Any irritation, regardless of the site it is applied to is simply a sensitivity to the high concentration of the magnesium salts that are in the product. Try diluting it 1:1 with purified water which will give a 16% concentration and see if that lessens the reaction.... she could even dilute beyond that if necessary. It’s not harmful, just that her skin cannot adjust to it for some reason. I do find it odd that a thick skinned area like the palms would get a rash but not the shoulders? Strange. I have spoken with only a few people who were hyper sensitive to the product. Sorry I cannot provide greater insight here... Guest guest
Loretta,Thanks. I'll try diluting it. By the way the reaction was not limited to your product. I had the same experience with another brand, so it must be me. I am not surprised. During chemo I lost my hair with a protocol that shouldn't have impacted the hair. Guest guest
Ah….the “joys” of chemo. I was just sitting here remembering that when I did a month (4 treatments) of chemo, it was like all my senses (taste, smell, sight, touch, hearing) were affected by becoming very sensitive to things that I normally would not have had a concernwith. For instance, I could not stand for anyone and I mean anyone within the house to have on perfume or cologne. And I used to love the smell of nice perfume and my husband’s cologne. To this day, fragrances are much more exaggerated to my sense of smell. At my first chemo treatment I remember actually feeling it in my eyes and I asked the nurse if this was normal – of course, she said yes. I also remember asking, during my second treatment, if anyone ever gets up an runs away – she said “yes, but we run after them.” Ugh! (Yes, secretly my heart was telling me to “run.”) My taste was beginning to be affected right before I stopped the chemo – it was like everything tasted the same, thus one reason I didn’t want to eat. Anyway, possibly this is what has happened with you. The good news is that once I stopped the chemo it seemed that everything basically returned to “normal” except that I am still sensitive to “perfumes.” And I know it also depends on the amount of chemo and the duration as to how deeply it will affect the senses. Something to think about… By the way, if you purchased the Ancient Minerals from us and the dilution doesn’t work out, please let me know and we will be glad to refund your money. Guest guest
Bill, I think you mean picnogenol. In China, an herb called Melletia (Ji Xue Teng) is used extensively to reduce the severity of chemo side effects with great success. It is available in this country through an acupuncture practitioner. Health Concerns markets their "Marrow Plus" using this herb. Guest guest
I am a true believer in pine needle tea. I discovered it about 6 months ago, and started getting my fresh pine needles from the trees all around my house here in Florida, cutting them and making tea daily putting a handful in a pot with simmering water with fresh mint leaves, and chamomile flowers, leaving it to simmer very low for about a half an hour. It has a wonderful taste. We add a little honey or agave syrup, and cinnamon and cloves at times. My husband has had trouble with his blood sugar, and blood pressure and found dramatic results after drinking this tea every evening for 6 months. The results came pretty quickly, and he noticed a significant improvement in his breathing, allergies, his energy levels, and just overall feeling of health. Its a shame that so many people take for granted what nature provides every day, living all around us. Those weeds and trees you are pulling, killing, cutting down can very well save your life, and they don't cost a thing. You can google pine needle tea for a number sites with info and recipes. In China, an herb called Melletia(Ji Xue Teng) is used extensively to reduce the severity of chemo sideeffects with great success. It is available in this country throughan acupuncture practitioner. Health Concerns markets their "MarrowPlus" using this herb.>> Bob> -> Bill> oleander soup > Friday, June 06, 2008 11:39 AM> Re: Magnessium Oil>>> Dr Loretta,> Several people told me they took Pecnolenol while doing chemo andgreatly reduced the bad effects.> Bill> -> Dr. Loretta Lanphier> oleander soup > 2008-06-05 18:05> RE: Magnessium Oil>>>> Ah..the "joys" of chemo. I was just sitting here rememberingthat when I did a month (4 treatments) of chemo, it was like all mysenses (taste, smell, sight, touch, hearing) were affected by becomingvery sensitive to things that I normally would not have had aconcernwith. For instance, I could not stand for anyone and I meananyone within the house to have on perfume or cologne. And I used tolove the smell of nice perfume and my husband's cologne. To this day, fragrances are much more exaggerated to my sense of smell. At myfirst chemo treatment I remember actually feeling it in my eyes and Iasked the nurse if this was normal - of course, she said yes. I alsoremember asking, during my second treatment, if anyone ever gets up anruns away - she said "yes, but we run after them." Ugh! (Yes, secretlymy heart was telling me to "run.") My taste was beginning to beaffected right before I stopped the chemo - it was like everythingtasted the same, thus one reason I didn't want to eat. Anyway, possibly this is what has happened with you. The good news is thatonce I stopped the chemo it seemed that everything basically returnedto "normal" except that I am still sensitive to "perfumes." And Iknow it also depends on the amount of chemo and the duration as to howdeeply it will affect the senses.>> Something to think about.>> By the way, if you purchased the Ancient Minerals from us andthe dilution doesn't work out, please let me know and we will be gladto refund your money. Guest guest
Elaine I forgot to ask you did your husband had high blood sugar levels? and came down with the pine tea? a friend of mine has high sugar levels and i was wandering . Hugs Mary - Elaine Nichols oleander soup Sunday, June 08, 2008 6:55 AM Re: Re: Magnessium Oil I am a true believer in pine needle tea. Guest guest
Yes, mary, he did. His blood glucose levels came down dramatically, and have stayed down. Of course this all goes along with a healthy whole foods diet, lots of exercise, lots of water, and no sugar, artificial sweetners, or food additives our diet.
