Suz,

I have formally complained to Whole Foods a few times. They do put canola oil in all of their prepared foods... it's just abomidable. I think they must have Canadian backing of some sort. Why else would they choose to put this garbage in their food? Just boggles the mind really.

Add unrefined and extra virgin coconut oil to the list of excellent oils for cooking. Just don't cook it over 350.

Canola means Canadian oil -- the biggest GMO product out there. Whole Foods uses it in all of their cooked products.

Your right Bob, I like Whole Foods very much but I too struggle with many of the products they sell, many are pure junk and have alot of evaporated cane juice in the ingredients which is just another word for sugar.

You are right Tony. I just could not bring myself to buy their prepared foods. They look delicious but canola???? You know, there is a comment/suggestion box here in the main WF and the owner reads those comments. I will make it a point to let him know our aversion to canola oil and other gmo/poisonous oils. Probably because it's cheap, the bottom line for every corporation on the planet...bigger profits.

I have complained to my Whole Foods also. I heard they had a reason for using canola oil but I have yet to hear what it is.
