Loretta, thanks for your clear analysis of issues around supplements. And you confirm my thoughts about Sandra carrying commitment to ridiculous extremes. IMHO, oleander is a whole extract, with toxins removed. Whole extracts certainly are compatible with Budwig. Your emails about the need to change the body and mind terrain always keep me on the path of 'right diet'.

I've been on the Budwig Program for precisely two years. It kept me stable and feeling well, but never headed toward remission. After a few months, I began to notice that the lack of supplements was impacting my general health. Loss of night vision, going from osteopenia to osteoporosis, memory worsening, varicose veins, etc. So I quietly went back to supplements.

I'm short on $$, so I use Swansonvitamins.com when possible. They work well for me and are economical. except for the calcium orotate recommended by Loretta Lanphier, whose personal input and website are wonderful resources.

I strongly believe that when Budwig developed and refined her program from the 50's to the 70's, both the necessity for supplements wasn't acute, nor the need for serious detoxification. Environmental illness wasn't even known at that time, for example. So, in my opinion, both need to be addressed, and may be part of why some thrive on Budwig, while others don't.

I have great respect for Sandra O, who has made the flaxseedoil2 group her life work. But I also think that her reasoning about supplements defies logic and common sense. This thread is the first opportunity I've had to discuss Budwig, the FOCC list, and compatibility with oleander. I am greatly relieved to have it out in the open, and of course I enjoy having my personal opinions confirmed.

Rhoda
