I've been living in excruciating intestinal pain the last week, due to

intestinal obstruction in the small intestines. Critical condition, large

ovarian cancer spread all over the abdomen and severe ascites are complicating

the situation.

Could anyone help me, please with natural remedies for pain. Don't want to start

on narcotics.

Any help is highly appreciated.

Thank you,

Milena

My aunt used homoeopathic Ledum for such pain, she never had morphine.

My best wishes to you.

Bless your heart Milena, I have looked through Tony's Rose Laurel Herbal Guide nd this is what I found:

White WillowWhite willow benefits the stomach, kidneys, bowels, and intestines. It works like a mild and natural analgesic which is gentle on the stomach. And yes, I had heard that this is a natural pain killer. Actually, I believe this is what aspirin is formulated after.

I don't know if this would help, but thought I would list it.

PeppermintPeppermint calms the stomach, intestinal tract, and the nervous system. It comforts the stomach and nourishes the salivary glands to help with digestion. It has astringent properties and soothes the nervous system.

And I thought that the following might help you relax a bit.

ScullcapScullcap is one of the most powerful herbs to help you get a better night's sleep. It calms the nervous system, relaxes the muscles, and helps balance blood pressure.

PassionflowerPassionflower has been used to help the body reduce anxiety, hysteria and nervousness by nourishing the nervous system. Passionflower has been traditionally used in both herbal and homeopathic medicine for pain, insomnia, nervous exhaustion, asthma and attention deficit disorder. In vitro experiments show that passicol, an alkaloid found in passionflower, kills a range of molds, yeasts, and bacteria

I am sure that Tony and Dr. Goebel, and others will be around, probably in the morning to reply to you with further suggestions. I was just about to turn in myself and saw your message come in.

For right now, I hope I have helped. Please, do let us know how you fare with these remedies and others that will be forthcoming and keep us posted on how you are doing.

Hugs,

Milena,

Aside from taking oleander soup or Sutherlandia and IP6, you might try

acupuncture. It can work wonders for this type of pain. Good luck.

You might look into castor oil packs applied to the abdomen. Directions may be gotten through Google and supplies are commonly found in health food stores.Mikebbanever <bbaneveroleander soup Sent: Friday, May 16, 2008 8:34:02 AMRe: Excruciating pain

Milena -I am so sorry to hear about your pain.

Depending upon your level of pain and personal threshold for pain, you may wish to consider a mainstream pain reliever for a short term basis while your natural anti-cancer protocol wages and wins the battle against your cancer.

For the most part, nature does not approach mainstream pain relievers when it comes to truly severe pain, although there are some options that may provide enough relief (although many of the most potent mainstream ones are derived from nature - especially the opiates).

Here are some natural herbal alternatives that may help:

Aconite - Available as a homeopathic remedy. Has been called "nature's valium".Boswellia - Relieves pain without stomach upset, in the same manner as Celebrex.Clematis - Also known as Wei Ling Xian, increases the threshold of pain.Condurango - Relieves pain and restores appetite - normally used as a tincture.Echinacea - Helps relieve pain in advanced cancer. Best not to use for more than two weeks at a time.Ginger - Reduces production of pain-causing cytokines.Kava - Relieves pain and induces sleep. May be combined with Valerian and Passionflower. The extract form is better for pain than the capsule version.Meadowsweet - Relieves stomach pain.Passionflower - Has been used to tranquilize and calm edgy nerves for over 200 years. May be combined with Kava and Valerian.Pau d'arco - Stimulates immune system to destroy bacteria (and has cancer fighting properties)Turmeric - Relieves pain and inflammation (and has cancer fighting properties)Valerian - A tranquilize and calmative with actions similar to valium. Was

widely distributed in London in WWII to relieve panic from the German

bombing attacks. May be combined with Kava and Passionflower.Willow - Relieves pain (has the same ingredient as aspirin - salicylic acid. Do not use if sensitive or allergic to aspirin).

Formulas:

Prepared Aconite Decoction - A traditional Chinese herbal formula used under professional supervision for chronic pain. Acts by raising the threshold of pain to make rest possible. Note: Discontinue if a fever occurs. The formula may cause temporary loss of sensation in the mouth and tongue.SPES - An herbal formula containing corydalis that relieves abdominal pain caused by cancer.

Other methods to relieve pain include acupuncture, EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique), meditation, soothing baths, calmative teas such as chamomile and perhaps aromatherapy.

I hope you find this helpful.Tonyoleander soup , mantchev wrote:>> I've been living in excruciating intestinal pain the last week, due to intestinal obstruction in the small intestines. If you have a complete blockage, that will become a medical emergency (surgery) as it will be life-threatening. If you have pressure upon the intestines from the tumor, you will have inflammation of the tissues, and probably gas pressures; these can be really awful. No solid food except powdered fiber. Lots of liquids. (Santalol in) sandalwood oil is another intestinal soothing herb.I pray that it is not a true complete blockage. That is a surgical condition.Dr. GoebelTony wrote: Milena -I am so sorry to hear about your pain.
