Guest guest
I made the soup last night. As it was cooking I smelled a distinct odor that I knew I had smelled before but couldn't place. Finally after a couple hours it hit me. I use to make wild violet syrup years ago. The oleander smelled just like the cooking violets! So now I wonder if that is just the smell of flowers cooking as the oleander had some flowers and that's the part of violets you use, or if the violets have a small portion of what makes oleander so potent? They are both anti cancer. Oleander is easier to pick enough to make a huge batch but the violets certainly do taste better! Renee
