Angel -As the famous alternative cancer therapy pioneer Max Gerson discovered, cancer only occurs in the presence of an impaired liver. Fatty and impaired livers often do not process toxins and fat like healthy livers do. Instead of a fat and toxin disposal organ they become fat and toxin storage organs - and fatty tissue is one of the prime places in the body where toxins are stored.Add to that the fact that any successful anti-cancer protocol is going to be releasing a lot of toxins into the body to be processed by the liver, which may already be impaired, and you can easily see the reasons to make sure the liver is thoroughly cleansed, the bile duct is functioning properly and measures are taken to keep the liver clean, protect it and help it regenerate. That is why Gerson insisted on liver cleanses and frequent coffee enemas (the enemas open the bile duct to allow proper flow of bile and elimination of fat, waste and toxins)Some of the very best measures, in addition to periodic cleanses, to protect and rebuild the liver and keep the bile duct functioning properly, in my opinion, are:Milk thistle (an absolute must I believe)Alpha Lipoic AcidSeleniumTurmericLecithin (get the organic non-GMO version from Mountain Rose Herbs )Beet JuiceCoconut OilAt a bare minimum, I would do the first three anti-oxidants milk thistle, alpha lipoic acid and selenium and the lecithin. Personally, I do all of the above list.Tonyoleander soup , <toreadpeoplehealthinfo wrote:>> Oleander SoupHello all again,> > Sorry if I missed it but I can't find it in the message list...> > Did anyone reply to my question about the liver storing toxins?> > There was a thread a few days ago about detoxing the liver and I was asking why that is necessary if the liver doesn't "store" toxins?> > Angel>oleander soup , <toreadpeoplehealthinfo wrote:>> Oleander SoupHello all again,> > Sorry if I missed it but I can't find it in the message list...> > Did anyone reply to my question about the liver storing toxins?> > There was a thread a few days ago about detoxing the liver and I was asking why that is necessary if the liver doesn't "store" toxins?> > Angel>

The suggested doses on the bottles/containers should be a good guideline. For the beet juice, a glass or two a day; for the coconut oil, a couple of tablespoons. For more information about the first three anti-oxidants see this article:The Berkson Clinical StudyTonyoleander soup , "Margaret Mader" <mader wrote:>> At what dosages?> > > - > Tony > oleander soup > Friday, May 02, 2008 9:13 AM> Reasons to cleanse, detox, protect and rebuild the liver> > > Angel -> > As the famous alternative cancer therapy pioneer Max Gerson discovered, cancer only occurs in the presence of an impaired liver. Dandy leaves are good to eat while they are young. They do have a sprig tonic like effect. But there is much more detox ability in the dandy roots, either made as a tea or tincture. Great for both the kidneys and liver. There is a post I have saved on using fresh dandy roots as an anti-cancer tonic, if it has not already been listed in this group.

Thanks Tony,

I understand your thoughts about the liver needing help during cancer battles. Thanks for explaining that.

Do I understand you correctly in that you are saying that the liver indeed DOES store toxins when it becomes a fatty liver?

And it becomes a fatty liver when someone is overweight or has diabetes or drinks excessively, right?

I'm using some of the supplements you mention below for the liver but I'm using them for their anti-cancer properties, not really familiar with their pro-liver functions. Would you please share about the selenium, the turmeric, the lecithin, and the coconut oil - how does it do something good for the liver?

Tony,

Are these supplements cleansing or do you cleanse (and with what?) and then use these?

You don't have to answer from the Texas Music awards, relax and enjoy? Are you a musician, and what kind?
