Guest guest
or Tony or someone who knows... I'll repost my question because I really need to understand this... "....So, I'm taking digitalis on my antrhoposophical doctor's orders - not for heart but for something or other that causes/prevents cancer, can't remember what the 4 things are according to his philosophy. " So, that means Oleander is out for me, right? Either you or Tony wrote something about Oleander crossing assays or something or other with digitalis.... what exactly does it mean when something crosses assays, or whatever terminology you used about it? Thanks, Angel
Guest guest
Hi Angel, When something cross-assays, it means that there is a cross reaction. Not necessarily good. Now, you say that you are taking digitalis on doctor's orders for something other than a cardiovascular reason? This is where I step out and let a knowledgeable person reply. They will be around shortly, I'm sure. Guest guest
When I say that digitalis cross assays with digoxen/digitalis, I mean that it has the same properties of those and other similar cardiac glycosides. If your doctor prescribed one it could be because there is quite a bit of evidence that cardiac glycosides have anti-cancer properties - as do the cardiac glycosides in oleander, chief of which is oleandrin. In all likelihood you will be able to take the two together, but you may need to reduce or eliminate the doctor prescribed digitalis. If I were you I would not take any oleander until consulting with your doctor and I would find out exactly why he or she prescribed it if not for a heart condition. If it were me, and I were fighting cancer, the digitalis would be out and the oleander in. oleander soup , <toreadpeoplehealthinfo wrote: > > or Tony or someone who knows... > > I'll repost my question because I really need to understand this... > > " ....So, I'm taking digitalis on my antrhoposophical doctor's orders - not for heart but for something or other that causes/prevents cancer, can't remember what the 4 things are according to his philosophy. Guest guest
Thank you, Tony. I understand now. I will review this with my doctor who prescribed it and understand better what exactly digitalis is supposed to do to/for me. Angel Re: oleander and digitalis?
