Tony et al,

I think these are two really good articles. Thankfully there are writers like you, docs who learn nutrition on their own and newsletters like NaturalNews and Mercola that speak the truth.

Our "Modern Medicine" is really antiquated in my opinion. Yes, we have up to the minute procedures and techniques, yet we have antiquated methods of determining how to heal. We rush to cut first and ask questions later.

Noone wants to ask why the disease came on in the first place. They don't really care. They just want to get it out, get it over with and move on. It's really a laissez-faire attitude. We need to be more concerned with prevention. But alas, that doesn't pay.

Now this next condition I want to mention isn't cancer but it keeps coming up over and over lately (like cancer) and that is autism (and ADHD). I'm telling you this to prove my point. I'll be 49 in October and I never remember hearing about autism much in at least my first 47 years of life -- except in books. How about any of you who are around my age or older?

I recently listened to a lecture by a doc from England who believes that autism and ADHD are really a condition of the gut. Our US medical system will never be able to understand this because our doctors deal with one system and one system only. To help children with these conditions, they are more than happy to prescribe any number of meds. You have to go to an alternative specialist, usually on your own dime, to try to figure out why.

My own personal situation is another instance of antiquated "Modern Medicine". I had headaches since I was 15 until a year ago. I took all kinds of OTC pain relievers, migraine meds, etc. My blood sugar was fine yet I kept getting dizzy episodes. Last year I went to a naturopath. He suggested that I cut out gluten. Three days later my headaches completely disappeared and I stopped getting dizzy. I haven't had more than three headaches in almost a year!

I don't know what we can do about it. I just know that unless I need a lab test that I want insurance to pay for, I'm not going back to my family doctor. I have also opted to get a thermography as opposed to a mammogram this year, even though it will be paid out of pocket.

Suz
