The liver has been likened to the oil filter for the human body, but that is not entirely accurate. The liver does remove toxins, as well as fats, but does not normally store them.An impaired liver does not store toxins so much as it does not eliminate them the way it is supposed to and pass them out of the body via the bile duct.Sometimes a damaged or neglected liver can become a fat storage organ and in that case some toxins can be expected to be stored in the liver the same as they are stored in fat deposits in the rest of the body.Yes, an impaired liver is one of the conditions normally present when cancer gains a foothold, as is an impaired immune system. It is a very good, I would say essential, practice to regularly clean the liver as well as the rest of the body (kidneys, gall bladder, colon, etc.)The stones you have read about are gall bladder stones and there is some question as to what extent they existed prior to the cleansing and how much they were grown, or multiplied, during the cleanse. One thing for sure - virtually everyone who has done a good liver and gall bladder cleanse has reported feeling much better afterwards. For more information:Modern Medicine versus Nature in Treating CancerA Natural Anti-Cancer ProtocolLiver and Bowel CleansingThe Berkson Clinical StudyTonyoleander soup , <toreadpeoplehealthinfo wrote:>> Would anyone here be able to explain to me this thing about the liver... So, I searched out info about keeping the liver healthy and this info above is what got me totally confused.> > Any thoughts from you smart(er) people?> > Thanks,> Angel>
