See: http://tinyurl.com/de7us GB Heat may be one cause, but there are many others. Llike ANY other symptom, it can arise from disorder in ANY of the five elements, or ANY of the Zangfu. In WM, this symptom can arise in brain disease (neurodegeneration, MS, cancer, etc). It can also arise in antibiotic therapy, cytotoxic chemotherapy, other toxicities, venom poisoning, halitosis, gum disease, before an attack of migraine, heart-attack or panic attack, etc. People with mercury (Hg) amalgam fillings often report a metallic taste as a transient symptom (sometimes with transient numbness of the tip of tongue or lips), esp if the teeth are carious from the inside and the amalgam is " leaking " to the oral blood supply.
