Should the flowers of the oleander be included in the soup? Or can the

flowers be included? Is there any reason to or not to? I would like to

make some soup but would like to know if I should or shouldn't include

the flowers?

I have always used every part of the plant except the roots, Mary. I just wash the dust off and use everything. I use pruning shears to chop the plant up prior to putting it in the pot. The finer you chop it, the more surface area in contact with the boiling water, and so the better the extraction into the water. Be sure to use at least 4, preferably 7 large strainers with coffee filters and/or paper towels to filter your soup. You can buy lint-free paper towels and filters.Don't skimp on the proportion of alcohol to preserve the soup. You can try many things to get a better flavor. Look in the flavors in the bakery section of your store. Lemon works best for me.May God bless your efforts.Dr. GoebelMary <maihards wrote: Should the flowers of the oleander be included in the soup?
