Guest guest
I have been on oleander soup for three weeks now. I have had considerable activity gut wise. Is this normal? I have cut back to 1/2 teaspoon three times a day after meals. I get a strong metalic taste which lasts from one dose til the next. I am rarely free of it. I believe I have made a quite strong mixture. I am going this alone as I am not aware of others here in Australia using OS. I would like to be in touch with any here in Australia that are familiar with OS. As far as flavorings, I restrict my sugar intake to nil if possible. I will try lemon as a flavor. I used apple cider vinegar not vodka as preservitive. Looking for support and help. I am using OS as treatment for diagnosis of breast cancer. I use pruning shears to chop the plant up prior to putting it in the pot. The finer you chop it, the more surface area in contact with the boiling water, and so the better the extraction into the water. Be sure to use at least 4, preferably 7 large strainers with coffee filters and/or paper towels to filter your soup. You can buy lint-free paper towels and filters.Don't skimp on the proportion of alcohol to preserve the soup. You can try many things to get a better flavor. Look in the flavors in the bakery section of your store. Lemon works best for me.May God bless your efforts.Dr. GoebelMary <maihards (AT) iprimus (DOT) com.au> wrote: Should the flowers of the oleander be included in the soup? Guest guest
Mary, Here are my comments. I hope others will add more. The gut reactions should not occur if you very well filter the concoction. I cannot drink much apple cider vinegar without some stomach upset. The alcohol for preservative was the easier choice for me. Did you tend to have an easily upset stomach before you began to take the soup? Have you had a digestive problem before you began? I have never had a metallic taste left in the mouth from the soup. Yours might be contaminated with something. If you do not have a metabolic disorder, the contaminant might be a slow poison. Don't panic! Stop your current batch of soup until you have more information. You might want to see a medical doctor for blood tests; is there a metabolic disorder or a concentration of a metal or chemical in your blood that is elevated? I would send in a hair sample for a mineral analysis to look at the amount of various metals in the body.
