Benzine (a known cause of cancer) is a waste product from the refining

of crude oil. It is expensive to get rid of properly. The refineries,

with the approval of local politicians, dump it back into the gasoline

we use, where it is distributed into the atmosphere, along with 1.5

billion tons of carbon monoxide. In California and Oregon, benzine

levels are regulated and restricted in gasoline. The excess benzine

not used in Calif. is distributed into the other state's gasoline

supplies, making you pay at the pump for their toxic waste

distribution program.

Coal based power plants put 3 billion tons of carbon monoxide into the

atmosphere in this country. Their CEO's have made huge contributions

to congressional members and the president to maintain their grip on

the power generating industry, pushing legislation and regulation

which has all but done away with nuclear energy plants and research

into nuclear energy safety.

France and other countries in Europe are moving to nuclear as a safe

and clean energy source, with minimal pollution and minimal risk.

http://wwwdb.mhlw.go.jp/ginc/html/db1.html is a toxicity database. In the USA this chemical is more frequently called Benzene. I cannot find Benzine as anything but the German variant of the spelling for benzene.Benzene is nothing special. If you compare its toxicity to almost any hydrocarbon, you will find it is nothing special. The halogated hydrocarbons are far more toxic (example would be carbon tetrachloride = tetrachloromethane). Large poly halogenated hydrocarbons when burned can create some of the most toxic products, such as a PCB.If, however, you work around benzene continuously and breathe it and absorb it through your skin, you run the risk of cancer, greater the risk with greater the exposure. Same for carbon tetrachloride. Same for lighter fluid. Same for gasoline. These lighter hydrocarbons can be effectively combusted into carbon dioxide. Carbon dioxide is not a

problem. Al Gore is a liar. Green plants thrive on carbon dioxide. The earth has been heating and cooling for a long, long time. It is natural. When metallic oxides, and or polyhalogenated hydrocarbons are put into the air or water, big problems are created. Improperly combusted hydrocarbons are a huge problem, too. Most of the large population center smog clouds are a combination of all the above with water vapor.Proper disposal of some of these problematic chemicals is only solved by extremely high heat furnaces that have pressurized high heat oxygen as the oxident. If we had it to do all over again, most plastics would be polycarbonates and other nontoxic polymers.Dr. Goebeled4soup <ed4636 wrote: Benzine (a known cause of cancer) is a waste product from the refining of crude oil.
