Guest guest
Hi, I just want to make sure im doing this right, you did answer most of the questions and I want to know just before I obtain the plant. I'll be using a small pot, and I guess my soup wont be large as yours but its fine..I am doing this because I want to do it more often in order to keep the soup fresh, thats not a problem right? so I just make sure I have the pot(whatever size is it) filled in with oleander trimmings till 2 " from the top and filled in with water to cover the oleander trimmings completely..right? The only problem here is that if a container is smaller its gonna boil less time right? so if I follow the recipe that you have given all the water will be gone? maybe in that case I should stick to the original recipe and use a big pot hehe Once again the question.. 12 quarts.. I did the calculation on Google and it seems like 1 US quart = 0.25 US gallons if that's correct than 12 quarts = 3 gallons Sorry I am more comfortable with gallons because I am using this measurement sometimes, so basically the pot has to be able to hold 3 gallons of liquid and I fill up to 2 " from the top with trimmings and water and follow the rest of your recipe? Thanks again! wont bug you anymore about it..just dont wanna mess up and poison myself.
Guest guest
You can use whatever size pot you want and you can put in as much or as little oleander clippings a you want so long as you leave at least two inches to prevent boilover and so long as you put in enough water to cover the clippings. Keep adding water as needed if it gets too low. Your math is correct. I am like you in personal preference - I had rather make fresh soup twice a year than a really big batch for a whole year or more. Good luck. Take care in handling, be sure to filter well, and start off with very small amounts at first. oleander soup , " boystyle " <boystyle wrote: > > Hi, > > I just want to make sure im doing this right, you did answer most of > the questions and I want to know just before I obtain the plant. > > I'll be using a small pot, and I guess my soup wont be large as yours > but its fine..I am doing this because I want to do it more often in > order to keep the soup fresh, thats not a problem right? > > so I just make sure I have the pot(whatever size is it) filled in with > oleander trimmings till 2 " from the top and filled in with water to > cover the oleander trimmings completely..right? > > The only problem here is that if a container is smaller its gonna boil > less time right? so if I follow the recipe that you have given all the > water will be gone? maybe in that case I should stick to the original > recipe and use a big pot hehe > > Once again the question.. 12 quarts.. > I did the calculation on Google and it seems like > 1 US quart = 0.25 US gallons > if that's correct than 12 quarts = 3 gallons > Sorry I am more comfortable with gallons because I am using this > measurement sometimes, so basically the pot has to be able to hold 3 > gallons of liquid and I fill up to 2 " from the top with trimmings and > water and follow the rest of your recipe? > > Thanks again! > wont bug you anymore about it..just dont wanna mess up and poison myself. >
Guest guest
Great, understood now! I will use a spaghetti pot, and after boiling for 3.5-4 hours I will make sure there is 60-70% of the original amount of water if not I will add a bit..and than and 2-3 hours and will make sure that there is 30% left All this is great info and now I understand everything properly will add 50-50% vodka to it after filtering properly hopefully the vodka will not dilute it so much to make it less potent.. and hopefully i wont have an diarrhea attack haha good stuff Tony, I will take 1 month full dose and than for prevention 3 times a week --- Tony wrote: > You can use whatever size pot you want and you can > put in as much or > as little oleander clippings a you want so long as > you leave at least > two inches to prevent boilover and so long as you > put in enough water > to cover the clippings.
