In this, I am currently on a " prescription " of healthy organic eating, exercise, meditation, abdominal breathing, the Alexander Technique, self- directed art therapy...I try to do a variety of things and, although I have my moments, I am happy to say that I am able to manage the anxiety now without medication! I am very eager to talk with others who are interested in these topics! It is so great that there are communities like this! Hopefully, groups like this will broaden the discussion and help others realize the healing potential of holistic practices! Ahhh...imagining that irresistible " new car " smell? Guest guest
My name is Veronica and I was just invited to this group by my mom, . I had a question for the Dr. My soon to be father in law had a heart transplant about 5 years ago. He is also diabetic and had a hole in his foot that hasn't healed in years because of the diabetes. He has a heart specialist he sees as well as a podiatrist. Recently his foot got infected and it went to the bone. So, he was hospitalized for it and sent home with a pick tube for antibiotics. The pick tube was taken out after 5 weeks or so because the infection went away, but now is kidney levels are high. Now, he has to go see a Nephrologist. The nurse said that it could be from the antibiotics or one of his other medications but they want him to see the Dr. just to see what is going on. My mom wanted me to have him take apple cider vinegar and phosperous PH. She swears by it and told me that it will help him. When I told him this, he said that he Dr. told him he can't take anything like that because it will boost his immune system which in turn will make his body reject his heart. Is this true? Thanks so much. Veronica
Guest guest
Your father-in-law to be has too many serious current conditions for any physician to make recommendations for him in response to an email over the internet. I am meaning this in a thoughtful, not rude manner. I would think that a heart transplant which has endured 5 years would be considered now as stable, but I am not a cardiologist or heart surgeon. With also kidney markers and severe diabetic complications, I would hope you would leave his care to the specialists, or really educate yourself, for say at least 6 months, with every source of information you can find. If I myself were the patient, I would consider IV chelation to help with circulation problems created by the diabetes. HOWEVER, THE KIDNEY CONDITION MAY BE OF THE TYPE AND/OR SERIOUS ENOUGH THAT CHELATION COULD BE LIFE-THREATENING! So again, you have to be educated enough to be able to interpret all the data, or you must rely on the specialists. Perhaps you can educate yourself sufficiently to ask the specialists questions for which they will actually stop and think before answering. You might be able to have some positive impact upon the treatment regimen(s) for him if you have the will, time, and energy to educate yourself that much. Whatever course might be taken, may you enjoy God's blessings on your family. Dr. Goebel Veronica <vdavidson72 wrote: My name is Veronica and I was just invited to this group by my mom,.
