Guest guest
Is anyone really surprised? . . . RITALIN: THE ADHD DRUG MAY AFFECT THE DEVELOPING BRAIN Ritalin, given to around 5 million young Americans diagnosed with ADHD, is a stimulant similar to amphetamine and cocaine, and it seems to calming effect on ADHD children. But it may do so at a price. A new study, which monitored the effect of the drug on the brains of rats, found that it altered areas of the brain related to executive functioning, addiction and appetite, social relationships and stress. http://healthy.net/scr/news.asp?id=9338
Guest guest
I could do an article on this, but it would merely be my observations and opinions. Is there really such a condition as ADD or ADHD or has this merely been invented by the " elite " who plan to rule the world? Is ADD or ADHD really a child being hyperactive which can be corrected with the proper diet, is it a discipline problem, or is it both? It is just amazing to me how many children are diagnosed with these conditions and put on Ritalin. Ritalin became an agenda in the public schools back in the late 1980's. My son was in fifth grade. Although a " good " boy at home, he seemed to be very hyper in the classroom and was one of these children that always had to be disciplined. I being a widow trying to make ends meet and not knowing anything really, was told by his fifth grade teacher that he had ADD and needed to go to a doctor and be prescribed Ritalin. In my panic on hearing this I took Frank to the doctor. The doctor tested him. And then he sat me down. He told me that he found out what my son's condition was. He was all boy. He then went on to explain to me that instead of dealing with discipline issues, the teachers were drugging their students. He went on to tell me that there were serious side effects connected to this drug. Thank God for a doctor who cared, because if my son would have been prescribed Ritalin I would never have been the wiser. Now I am involved with high risk children. In my opinion, their ADD or actions are due to the fact that they come from broken homes. Their mothers have one boyfriend after another, like a revolving door. They live in neighborhoods wither drugs and crime are rampant. One or both parents are in jail. In my opinion, this is the reason for their anger and behavior problems. They need a healthy dose of love. Yet they are drugged. From my observations, I will also state that even though they are " drugged " these children are still angry and hurting. Ritalin is not the problem. Bringing the family unit back is what is needed. Teaching young mothers how to truly care for their chilren and maintaining a healthy balance between their needs and their baby's needs. oleander soup , robert-blau wrote: > > Is anyone really surprised? . . . > > RITALIN: THE ADHD DRUG MAY AFFECT THE DEVELOPING BRAIN > Ritalin, given to around 5 million young Americans diagnosed with ADHD, > is a stimulant similar to amphetamine and cocaine, and it seems to > calming effect on ADHD children. Guest guest
This is Bill Wilkins, If you can talk anyone into not letting their child take ritilin it will be a great accomplishment!. There are 3 people in Sacramento that have severe mental trouble that were forced to take ritilin when they were children.. I am and was very close frinnds with Ray, who talked to me about the school trying to put his son on ritilin . I had a bad gut feeling at that time that it was wrong. His son was bored and the teacher took it as slow and needing ritilin. Ray fought it hard and won. His son is now a very smart individual and I am truely proud of him and his Dad. One who has seen both sides Bill - Pam Griffin oleander soup Tuesday, August 28, 2007 3:41 PM Re: Re: RITALIN: THE ADHD DRUG MAY AFFECT THE DEVELOPING BRAIN Hey , a voice to echo my own from the other side of the world!
