Guest guest
Hi Ya'll So as you saw, I brewed a batch of OS this weekend, And I'm curious as to the experiences from other brewers. First of all, is the color right? I haven't seen any before and the dark brown color looks good to me. But what do I know.lol What color have you produced? Also, because I had no particulates after letting it settle. I wonder if it wasn't boiled hard enough? Maybe I should run some through a filter to see. Without filtering and just not shaking the batch up after settling, the rest was pretty simple. Siphon off till you just about reach the sediment. Has anybody else had a relatively clear batch? Just for shits and giggles, (and scientific curiosity),I just now ran one quart of my OS through a triple set of coffee filters, and the soup ran right through and left absolutely no tailings. Also tried my first taste/dose, mmmmmmmm???, always been partial to vinegar, and it's not tooo bitter. We'll see about the flavoring later. Well folks please let me know how other brews turned out. Guest guest
Do the same filtering for the other bottle (filtering) and I will feel better. And you might have only giggles that way :- ) Sounds to me like Kygos can cook - just be sure that the relative volume you end up with compared to what you started with is close to what is called for in the instructions. A tea colored final extract is normal. Dark brown might indicate a fairly potent batch. Be sure you start with small amounts and work yourself up slowly. Never exceed the maximum single dose amount or number of daily doses. oleander soup , " kygos5 " <kygos5 wrote: > > Hi Ya'll > So as you saw, I brewed a batch of OS this weekend, And I'm curious > as to the experiences from other brewers. > > First of all, is the color right? Guest guest
Great Pun !!! LMAOThanks for the sage advice Tony. I will filter the other portion also. Also prudent will be the starting a low dose, 1/4 tsp. So far, the only event was a bit of flatulence that made me go outside for air. Thanks , hope this can inspire some new brewers. Guest guest
Hi , just checked out Best Years, and bookmarked it!! The only thing I did different from the recipe was using mountain well water, and gently reducing the soup. All in all I'm pretty pleased. As for the taste, that was only a 1/4 tsp and could be a bit more pungent with the amount taken. We will see.( but then again I used to make tea with the sacred Datura plant too) NOT recommended for casual experimentation. lol May <luellamay129 wrote: Wow! You did wonderfully! Guest guest
You got it Janna. More filtering is needed. And about the taste. Tony said to put it under your tongue and swallow because there are no taste buds under your tongue. And I do this, without breathing, and you really don't taste it. but then you swallow and breathe and oh blecch! it's like the taste, overtakes all my senses. LOL It will get better as we get more experienced. Guest guest
What is the Sacred Datura Plant and what does it do? I promise, I won't make any tea out of it. You have done a wonderful job on your first try! I take in in conjunction with Pomegranite Juice. told me to do that and it is much, much better. The taste just doesn't agree with me. blecch! Guest guest
LoL, Try choking down some peyote. As a young man pursuing the " Teachings of Don Juan", I found the very beautiful Datura, or Jimson Weed plant* as a local plant and experimented with it. Hmmm... I just googled sacred datura and found this link, I think I'll bookmark it lolhttp://www.angelfire.com/indie/anna_jones1/datura.html * The datura plant is pollinated by the sphinx moth at night. totally awesome Thanks for the kudos Kygos May <luellamay129 wrote: What is the Sacred Datura Plant and what does it do? Guest guest
Carlos Castaneda too? You guys are killing me! What next, Ouspenski? Gurdjieff? Better watch out for that Jimson weed - it whacked out the Jamestown settlers hundreds of years back. The way the story goes is that a group of the men were foraging and trying to find out which plants were edible when they tried Jimson Weed (so-named for the Jamestown settlers). The went into mass hallucinations that lasted for days and included imaginary people they spoke spoke with. Oddest of all, it was not that they each had individual imaginary conversation partners, but instead the same imaginary partners were known to the entire group. oleander soup , Chuck De Luck <kygos5 wrote: > > LoL, Try choking down some peyote. > As a young man pursuing the " Teachings of Don Juan " , I found the very beautiful Datura, or Jimson Weed plant* as a local plant and experimented with it. > > Hmmm... > I just googled sacred datura and found this link, I think I'll bookmark it lol > http://www.angelfire.com/indie/anna_jones1/datura.html > > * The datura plant is pollinated by the sphinx moth at night. > totally awesome > > Thanks for the kudos > > Kygos > > > > May <luellamay129 wrote: What is the Sacred Datura Plant and what does it do? Guest guest
In Mexico, Datura is called Devil Weed. It contains atropine, an hallucinogenic hypnotic drug. In very small doses the drug is effective in some conditions. In larger doses it can be fatal. Atropine is listed as an antidote for mushroom poisoning; I've never been willing to eat poisonous mushrooms to give that a try! haha. Those of us who tried every type of legal high during the '60's and '70's found this one to be one that caused to much distress in dosage sufficient to give any mood or mind alteration.
