Guest guest
I am somewhat surprised to see a company like Braggs touch soy. But then, Annies Veggie health foods are full of it. Soy sauce may be fermented, but it does not contain the beneficial isoflavones associated with other soy products and it can also be very salty, so it may not be a suitable condiment for people on a low salt diet. Soy-basher Sally Fallon agrees that processed soy sauce and other forms of manufactured soy products are dangerous. She writes: " Soy also contains a human carcinogen called 3-MCPD. The substance is created during the manufacture of soy sauce and hydrolyzed vegetable protein (HVP). It is also present in soy sausages and other imitation foods. " Plus, soy is rapidly becoming a major food allergen, with increasingly wide recognition of its potentially severe and life threatening effects. From what I have read and researched, the only relatively safe forms of soy are the fermented ones like miso, tempeh, natto and tamari - and that does not include soy sauce. oleander soup , ahzoov wrote: > > > In a message dated 6/18/2007 3:32:34 P.M.
